Finley: "We Had A Really Good Offensive Gameplan"

NC State senior quarterback Ryan Finley met with the media after his three-touchdown performance in the win over Virginia.

Thoughts on the game... first real test as far as defense for you guys...
Well, we’re 1-0 in the ACC. Another win at home to stay undefeated at home; we’re really excited about that. It was really awesome to see how our run game came together.

Shoutout to Ricky Person. He really played good. He'll obviously probably be the talk for you guys.  That was a long time coming. That was really exciting to see him break out like that.

I thought we had a really good offensive gameplan. We did a really good job doing some freeze counts to see what they were doing and then called some really good plays.

Is this the defense this offense as been?
I think you saw seven or eight offensive linemen play today, good minutes for all of them. I think you saw a lot of running back rotation.

Obviously, our wide receiver corps is what it is. I think we’re really deep. Good teams have good depth and that's what you're seeing from us.

How good does it feel to keep up the consistency in the passing game?
It's just part of our offense. We’re balanced, and I think we attacked them. We were pretty balanced today which was good to see. Hell of some catches by some of our guys in the end zone.

Emeka basically taking the ball out of the other guy’s hands, and Cary getting his first touchdown was awesome to see and then Kelvin getting his first of the season.

What about what Ricky Person gave you?
It's awesome.  

When we're balanced like that, we're deadly.

Talk about your confidence right now...
We're 4-0 and we feel really good about ourselves. We're doing some really good things.

Seeing today how some things came together, as far as us attacking and being balanced was fun to see.

He runs physical and he has some moves too.  It was definitely exciting to see him break out today.

How does it feel to spread the ball around?
That's what we are. We spread the ball around and then we hit them with the run game.
