The No. 10 NC State Women's Swimming team gets set to compete in the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, marking the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season. This year's championship will take place at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, WA, from Wednesday, March 19, to Saturday, March 22.

This year, thirteen members of the Wolfpack Women have qualified for nationals. Freshman Leah Shackley, after an outstanding debut at the ACC Championships earning herself four medals. Shackley takes the No. 3 in the 200 backstroke, No. 4 seed in the 100 butterfly, and No. 6 in the 100 backstroke.

Freshman Erika Pelaez also made a strong showing, earning the No. 8 seed in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events. Junior Kennedy Noble is right behind, claiming the No. 10 seed in the 100 backstroke and No. 11 seed in the 200 backstroke.

Returning to the big stage are seasoned competitors Kennedy Noble, Grace Sheble, Tyler Driscoll, and Annabel Crush. Last season, Noble made her mark with a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke and a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke, earning All-American honors. She also placed 9th in the 200 IM, setting a new program record. Annabel Crush earned two All-American distinctions last season, finishing 6th in the 400 medley relay and 12th in the 400 freestyle relay.

Making their NCAA debut include freshmen: Leah Shackley, Erika Pelaez, Lisa Nystrand, and Lily Christianson. Earning their spot on the squad these freshmen have demonstrated strength across a variety of events, solidifying their place among the nation's elite swimmers.

The No. 10 NC State women's swimming and diving team concluded day two of the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday afternoon at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington.

Starting off things in prelims,Fifth-year swimmer Chase Travis wrapped up her collegiate career in the 500 freestyle with a bang, setting a personal best and securing the fourth-fastest 500 free time in Wolfpack history with a time of 4:39.41.Freshman Lisa Nystrand impressed by finishing 30th in the 200 IM, clocking a time of 1:56.65, which marked the ninth-fastest time in program history.

In another strong showing, freshman Lily Christianson earned her first spot in the finals of the 50 freestyle, posting a time of 21.68 during prelims. In the finals, she finished 16th, continuing the Wolfpack's impressive streak with her performance as the seventh consecutive NC State swimmer to earn All-American honors in the 50 freestyle.

The night ended on a high note with the Wolfpack women's 200 freestyle relay team finishing sixth, clocking a time of 1:26.82. This marked the 16th time in program history that the 200 freestyle relay team has earned All-American status.

Looking ahead to day three of the championships, the following events will be featured: 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and the 400 medley relay.

The No. 10 NC State women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day three of competition at the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday afternoon, held from March 12-22 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.

Entering the day in 10th place, the Wolfpack saw impressive performances in the prelims, with two personal bests. Freshman Erika Pelaez and Lisa Nystrand delivered standout swims in the 100 fly and 400 IM, respectively. Pelaez topped her heat in the 100 fly with a time of 51.07, marking the fourth-fastest time in school history. Nystrand finished second in her heat in the 400 IM, clocking in at 4:07.29, which ranks as the sixth-fastest time in school history.

Freshman Leah Shackley had a memorable day, earning two spots in the finals. She advanced to the A-final of the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.23, just one millisecond shy of her personal best. Shackley also earned a spot in the B-final of the 100 fly. Pelaez, just milliseconds off her personal best, posted a 50.47 in the 100 back, securing a place in both the 100 fly and 100 back B-finals. Junior Kennedy Noble also made her mark, advancing to the finals of the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.93 in the prelims.

With six entries into the finals, the Wolfpack were looking to build momentum. Shackley and Pelaez started strong, finishing first and second in the 100 fly. Pelaez recorded a personal best of 50.65, setting the fourth-fastest time in school history, just slightly faster than her earlier mark of 51.07. Both Shackley and Pelaez earned All-American Honorable Mentions for their performances.

Nystrand continued to impress, posting a personal best of 4:07.02 in the 400 IM, the new sixth-fastest time in program history, surpassing Julia Poole's mark and earning her an All-American Honorable Mention.

In the 100 backstroke, three members of the Wolfpack competed for a place on the podium. Shackley, the first Wolfpack swimmer to reach an A-final this week, secured a sixth-place finish with a personal best of 50.06, setting the second-fastest time in program history and becoming the first individual swimmer to make the podium.

Pelaez and Noble also earned All-American Honorable Mentions, finishing 11th and 12th in the 100 back, respectively, after placing third and fourth in the consolation final.

At the close of the day, the Wolfpack remained in 10th place, ahead of Wisconsin and just seven points behind Michigan. Looking ahead, the Pack will compete in the final day of the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, with events including the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and the 400 freestyle relay.

The No. 10 NC State Women's Swimming and Diving Team wrapped up their competition at the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, held from March 19-22, with a remarkable top-10 finish. Scoring 164 points, the Wolfpack secured a position just behind Michigan (196 points) and ahead of Southern California (130 points). This achievement marks the sixth consecutive year that NC State has finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships.
The Wolfpack had a standout performance in the prelims, highlighted by five personal bests. Senior Erika Pelaez delivered her third personal best of the week, posting a time of 1:50.55 in the 200 backstroke, finishing third in her heat and securing a spot in her first A-final.

Senior Grace Sheble capped off her college career with a personal best in the 200 breast, clocking a time of 2:08.89. Meanwhile, Tyler Driscoll, Lily Christianson, and Cassie Moses also impressed in their respective events.

Chase Travis made a memorable final appearance in the pool, leaving a lasting legacy after competing in the 1650 freestyle. After trailing midway through the race, Travis surged ahead, ultimately securing second place with a time of 15:52.06. This performance not only marked the second-fastest 1650 free time in NC State history but also earned Travis her first-ever All-American honor, making her final collegiate race one to remember.

Building on the momentum of Travis' historic performance, freshmen Leah Shackley and Erika Pelaez also earned All-American honors. Shackley posted the second-fastest time in school history, 1:48.52, just shy of Kennedy Noble's record (1:48.43). Pelaez followed suit, claiming the fourth-fastest time in program history and securing her first individual All-American accolade and podium finish.

To wrap up the week, the Wolfpack earned All-American Honorable Mentions in the 400 freestyle relay, posting a time of 3:11.25. This relay team, consisting of Lily Christianson, Leah Shackley, Cassie Moses, and Erika Pelaez, not only set a personal best but also finished in 11th place.

The No. 7 NC State men's swimming team completed a strong start on Day 1 of the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday evening, earning eight new All-American honors. The Wolfpack currently sits in fifth place on the leaderboard with 50 points.

The Men's 200 Medley Relay team, featuring Quintin McCarty, Jerry Fox, Sam Hoover, and Luke Miller, kicked off the competition with a sixth-place finish. Their time of 1:21.16 not only secured a spot on the podium but also marked the third-fastest time in program history. McCarty led the way with the fastest 100 backstroke leadoff time of the entire event, clocking in at 20.24.

In the Men's 800 Freestyle Relay, Kaii Winkler, Daniel Diehl, Luke Miller, and Sam Hoover capped off Day 1 with a seventh-place finish in 6:06.95. This result extends the Pack's remarkable streak to 13 consecutive years of All-American honors in this event.

Fifth-year senior Luke Miller, with two podium finishes in the relays, is now chasing his 20th All-American title across the remaining six sessions. Miller currently holds 19 All-American honors and is poised to join the top five in NC State's most decorated athletes.

Federal Way, Washington, the No. 7 NC State Wolfpack capped off their third session with six more All-American titles.

After a strong start on day one, which included podium finishes in the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay, the Pack entered day two with determination to make an impact in the pool.

In a strong start to the day in prelims, Quintin McCarty, the ACC Champion in the 50 freestyle, surpassed his personal best from this year's ACC Championship (18.63), clocking a new best time of 18.62. This performance not only earned McCarty a spot in the A-final of the 50 free but also secured the second-fastest time in program history. Drew Salls, making his NCAA finals debut, also posted a career-best time of 18.90 in the prelims, earning a spot in the B-final.

In the evening, Salls finished 16th with a time of 19:09, securing his first All-American title. In the A-final, Quintin McCarty placed 8th, earning his second All-American title in the 50 freestyle and his third All-American honor of the week.

The men's 200 freestyle relay team concluded the evening with a fifth-place finish, posting a time of 1:14.37. This achievement marks the fifth consecutive year the Wolfpack has earned All-American honors in the event, with the time also ranking third in program history. This moment was made even more special for fifth-year swimmer Luke Miller, who earned his 20th All-American title with the Wolfpack, tying Kacper Stokowski for the fourth-most decorated male swimmer in NC State history.

Looking ahead to day three of competition, the Pack will compete in the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 400 medley relay events. Heading into day three, NC State sits in eighth place with 90 points on the board.

Junior Kyle Ponsler set a new school record, and the NC State Wolfpack walked away with an American record following an exciting night of competition at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The No. 7 NC State Wolfpack concluded the third day of competition in 9th place, with 128 points on the leader board. During the prelims, Luke Miller, Kyle Ponsler, and Quintin McCarty each advanced to the B-finals of their respective events. Sophomore Daniel Diehl swam a personal best in the 200 freestyle, finishing 23rd with a time of 1:32.28, which now ranks as the sixth-fastest time in school history. Quintin McCarty also set a personal best in the 100 backstroke with a time of 44.56, marking the fourth-fastest time in NC State history. Luke Miller posted a strong 100 fly performance, clocking in at 44.88.

In the evening session, fifth-year senior Luke Miller earned his 22nd All-American honor, finishing 10th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 44.50 and contributing to a 9th-place finish in the 400 medley relay.

The highlight of the night belonged to junior Kyle Ponsler. After securing a silver medal at the ACC Championships earlier this year, Ponsler broke his own school record in the 400 IM with a time of 3:37.42. Ponsler shaved nearly two seconds off his previous personal best with this time. This marks his second consecutive year earning All-American honors in the event, as well as another record-breaking performance in the 400 IM.

For the tenth consecutive year, Head Coach Braden Holloway has led the NC State men's swimming and diving team to a top-10 finish. The Wolfpack capped off their 2024-2025 season finishing 9th place at the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, scoring 178 points at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.

On the final day of competition, the men's 400 medley relay team secured a sixth-place finish. Three-time All-American Owen Lloyd claimed a podium spot, finishing fifth in the 1650 freestyle. Lloyd shaved two seconds off his personal best, previously set at the ACC Championships, clocking in at 14:29.13. Lloyd slashed nearly seven more seconds off his previous best. His time of 14:29.13 not only earned him a top finish but also secured the third-fastest mile time in program history.

In the final morning session, Kyle Ponsler and JT Ewing set personal bests. Ponsler won his heat with a time of 1:41.15 in the 200 backstroke, while Ewing also posted a strong performance, touching the wall at 1:40.06 in the same event.

Sophomore Daniel Diehl made a strong showing in prelims, advancing to the B-final of the 200 backstroke with a season-best time of 1:39.39.

ACC Champion Owen Lloyd, swimming in the A-final of the 1650 freestyle for the final time as a Wolfpack member, was determined to make his mark. After setting a monumental personal best at the ACC Championships in February, Lloyd slashed nearly seven more seconds off his previous best. His time of 14:29.13 not only earned him a top finish but also secured the third-fastest mile time in program history.

Juniors Lance Norris and Will Gallant also delivered strong swims in the mile. Gallant, a senior and National Champion in the 1650 freestyle, recorded a season-best 14:38.69 in the prelims. Norris, placing 13th, also set a personal best in the event, finishing with a time of 14:48.31.

The championships concluded with the Wolfpack finishing 5th in the 400 freestyle relay, marking the third time they put a relay on the podium. The team's time of 2:45.09, driven by Miller, Fox, Hoover, and McCarty, remains the third-fastest in NC State's history.

In the final event of the evening, the men's 400 freestyle relay team comprising Jerry Fox, Sam Hoover, Luke Miller, and Quintin McCarty gave it their all in pursuit of another podium finish. Their unforgettable performance resulted in the third-fastest 400 freestyle relay time in program history, with a time of 2:45.09.
