Down over 16% from just last year alone.
No numbers from 2 years ago due to rain.
Down 33.3% from three years ago.
Not sure how that translates to really good numbers...

I always thought the goal should be to increase viewership - not reduce it - and you know, grow the sport?
Jim France was down the road with plans to fund a Cup Series car at Sonoma, which would have seen the NASCAR CEO partner with Spire, Hendrick and Chevy. The deal fell apart shortly after @TheAthletic began working on a story about it. W/ @Jordan_Bianchi: https://t.co/AJzSptGVSZ

I gave up already before the weekend even started... if I can't watch the Cup race on Fox, NBC, CW or wherever, I'm sure as hell not going to try to chase down qualifying (which I also saw was "only on Prime"), or give any of the lower levels any watch that they aren't (yet) trying to extort you over...ncsupack1 said:
The 600, Southern 500, and Bristol are the only races in my opinion that should be at night. Every race this weekend has been at night.
MRN and PRN do a great job, but I sure do miss Barney Hall.TheStorm said:I gave up already before the weekend even started... if I can't watch the Cup race on Fox, NBC, CW or wherever, I'm sure as hell not going to try to chase down qualifying (which I also saw was "only on Prime"), or give any of the lower levels any watch that they aren't (yet) trying to extort you over...ncsupack1 said:

Hell, I "almost" wish I was back in the 1970's raking leaves with my dad, listening to the radio on MRN with the speaker(s) propped up facing outside in an open (screened) window.

I love Larry Mac. When we started working together in 2001 at the dawn of @NASCARONFOX he would show up for our Monday Totally NASCAR shows with notes just like this that he'd taken on Sunday. "Ryan, I don't know how else to watch a race." And that's why he's The Man. https://t.co/DFYTl3Acd3

.@TheCW got 988,000 viewers for Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity race at Nashville, ending the series' streak of 13 straight events over 1 million to kick off the season, in what was the best start in nine years. pic.twitter.com/q1qlZ9TV1C

Rockingham has some basic infrastructure problems. Essentially no hotel rooms or adequate restaurants nearby. Nothing else to do when you go there. I know, pure Nascar fans don't need anything else, but I'm not sure that is reality. One could say Talledega has similar problems, but fans have turned it into a National Redneck Camp week capped off by a race on Sunday.ncsupack1 said:
Hearing that the Rock is possibly for sale. If true, either SMI or NASCAR could be the buyer, or the owner possibly got bad news from NASCAR and is getting out.
Below: Why sports viewership numbers are going to increase heading forward as far as short-term comparisons.

.@PrimeVideo ratings data indicated that @NASCAR on that platform gets competition from the @NBA in a way it usually doesn't on regular TV, "so what that showed to me is that with a little bit younger audience, there might be a little bit more overlap." https://t.co/I7f563izh0
