Really good numbers, imo.

Hearing that the Rock is possibly for sale. If true, either SMI or NASCAR could be the buyer, or the owner possibly got bad news from NASCAR and is getting out.

Yeah, I don't know about that.

Down over 16% from just last year alone.
No numbers from 2 years ago due to rain.
Down 33.3% from three years ago.

Not sure how that translates to really good numbers...

Last year was on big FOX. For the first ever race on this platform, those numbers are above or around some races on FS1. Could it be better, sure, but I was expecting worse lol

I always thought the goal should be to increase viewership - not reduce it - and you know, grow the sport?

I don't know what the goal of NASCAR and Prime is, maybe they feel long term that more folks sign up?

Behind a paywall, but I'm not sure how I feel about this. Teams pushed back.

The 600, Southern 500, and Bristol are the only races in my opinion that should be at night. Every race this weekend has been at night.

I gave up already before the weekend even started... if I can't watch the Cup race on Fox, NBC, CW or wherever, I'm sure as hell not going to try to chase down qualifying (which I also saw was "only on Prime"), or give any of the lower levels any watch that they aren't (yet) trying to extort you over...

Hell, I "almost" wish I was back in the 1970's raking leaves with my dad, listening to the radio on MRN with the speaker(s) propped up facing outside in an open (screened) window.

MRN and PRN do a great job, but I sure do miss Barney Hall.

@TheCW got 988,000 viewers for Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity race at Nashville, ending the series' streak of 13 straight events over 1 million to kick off the season, in what was the best start in nine years.

lol…the car setup. Beyond that, I can't help much.

Really? Hated when Charlotte was Lowe's Motor Speedway. Now this, FYI SMI owns the company.

When the main race isn't available on cable, people are going to lose interest and it's going to trickle down to the other series unfortunately... that's why the Prime thing is so stupid. Casual viewers can take it or leave it (and I'm more than a casual viewer - or "was" at least, lol).

Let's see what I'm already paying for:
  • Spectrum Silver (I get Disney+, ESPN+, Max, Peacock, AMC, and some other streaming services for free with that)
  • NetFlix
  • Hulu
Why in god's name would I now want to pay for Prime (just to watch 5 NASCAR races)?
Glasswolf
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The free shipping from Prime makes it worth it for me. We do 95% of all our shopping, (clothes/gifts/household stuff) from Amazon. Prime Video is just a added + for us. Added there are some pretty good shows that we watch like Doctor Who etc.

Rockingham has some basic infrastructure problems. Essentially no hotel rooms or adequate restaurants nearby. Nothing else to do when you go there. I know, pure Nascar fans don't need anything else, but I'm not sure that is reality. One could say Talledega has similar problems, but fans have turned it into a National Redneck Camp week capped off by a race on Sunday.

Agree. There isn't much around Rock. As for Talladega, I've never been and don't plan on it. lol I've heard some wild stories.
