After playing its first six matches of the 2021 campaign at home, the NC State men's soccer team (4-2-0, 0-1-0 ACC) is set for its first road trip of the season as it takes on Notre Dame (1-3-1, 0-0-1 ACC) on Friday evening. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Alumni Stadium in South Bend, Ind., and the match will be broadcast live on ACCNX.

SERIES HISTORY (Series tied 2-2-1)
Friday marks the sixth overall meeting between NC State and Notre Dame.
With the adjusted schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NC State and Notre Dame did not face each other during the 2020-21 season.
The Wolfpack won the first matchup between the teams in 1990 and the most recent matchup in 2019.
NC State last faced off against Notre Dame on Oct. 4, 2019. That match, which was played in Raleigh, ended at a 2-0 score in the Pack's favor. Kuda Muskwe (35') and Pepe Garcia (54') were the goal scorers that night.
NC State has traveled to Notre Dame just once in program history. The squad visited the Fighting Irish in September of 2017 in a matchup that Notre Dame won 3-0.

sERIES HISTORY (NC State trails 11-31-6)
Friday marks the 49th overall meeting between NC State and Wake Forest. The squads have played each other at least once every season since the 1980 campaign and also met in 1979 before Wake Forest was a varsity team.
The Demon Deacons have remained unbeaten (15-0-4) in the last 19 meetings with the Wolfpack. NC State's last win over Wake Forest was a 2-1 victory in Raleigh on Oct. 30, 2005.
NC State last faced off against then-No. 4 Wake Forest on March 13 in a match that ended in a scoreless draw. Leon Krapf made three saves in the first half. The decision halted a seven-match winning streak that the Demon Deacons had in the series, and NC State earned a point against Wake Forest for the first time since Oct. 9, 2015.

NC State men's soccer (4-3-1, 0-2-1 ACC) picked up a hard-fought point in an ACC battle with Wake Forest (4-2-1, 1-1-1) on Friday night as the match ended in a 1-1 draw. It marked the second tie in a row between the two squads.

Wolfpack senior Alex Hernandez scored his first goal in the Red and White to put his team on the board in the 71st minute. Wake Forest got the equalizer just 39 seconds later, however, and neither team scored again in a game that extended through two overtime periods.

Hernandez's goal was generated off a corner kick that bobbled around in the box and eventually found Kuda Muskwe. Muskwe got a shot off that was saved by a deflection off a Wake Forest player, but the ball bounced to Hernandez who hit it on a half volley into the top of the net.

The Demon Deacons answered back when Chase Oliver slid the ball into the lower left of the goal after a cross by Omar Hernandez from the left corner of the field.

NC State took early control of possession and ended up winning the possession total by a 56-44 mark by the end of the night. The Wolfpack out-shot Wake Forest 15-11, with nine of its strikes coming in an active second half during which it scored its goal.

Freshmen Noe Cabezas and Henrique Santos tallied three shots apiece to tie for the team lead, and NC State's core group of veterans held strong against a solid Wake Forest squad to help secure the point.

NC State will play its next three matches on the road, starting with a Sept. 28 contest at Longwood. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

NC State men's soccer (4-3-1) will make the trip to Farmville, Va., on Tuesday night to take on Longwood (2-4-1) in what is the first of three-straight road matches for the Wolfpack. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from the Longwood Athletics Complex, and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 5-0-1)
Tuesday marks the seventh overall meeting between NC State and Longwood. The series between the two teams dates back to 2005.
The squads played each other three seasons in a row (2017, 2018, 2019) before pausing in 2020 with schedule changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
NC State remains unbeaten against Longwood. The teams tied 1-1 in a September 2007 matchup, and the Wolfpack has won each of the other five games.
Five of the six matches between the teams have been played on NC State's home field. NC State is 4-0-1 in those games.
NC State last faced off against Longwood in September 2019. The Pack earned the 1-0 victory in a match during which it owned the advantage in overall shots (18-3) and shots on target (8-1). Pablo Pedregosa was the goal scorer in that matchup.

Six different Wolfpack players found the back of the net in what was a dominant effort by the NC State men's soccer team (5-3-1) in its 6-2 road victory at Longwood (2-5-1).

The Pack's six goals marked the most it's scored in a single game since a 6-0 win over Delaware in 2012. NC State scored five of its goals in the second half, including three in an eight minute span near the start of the period. Eight different players registered a goal or an assist on the night, with Noe Cabezas tallying the first goal of his young NC State career and Ivy Brisma scoring his first of the season.

In total, NC State out-shot Longwood 21-8 with the 10-3 advantage in shots on target.

The Wolfpack wasted no time cracking into the scoring column as it struck first in the 11th minute for its fastest goal of the year. Yaniv Bazini sent a beautiful cross from the left corner in to Kuda Muskwe, whose header from 10 yards out easily found the back of the net. NC State is now 7-2-0 all-time when Muskwe scores a goal.

After heading into the break with the one-goal lead, NC State opened things up in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Brisma doubled his team's lead in the 51st minute with a left-footed shot that bounced into the bottom right corner. Cabezas sent a free kick from the right side of the field into the box where freshman Luke Hille headed it to Brisma for the score.

Longwood got on the board with a penalty kick (52'), but that same trio of Wolfpack players responded with yet another goal. This time, Cabezas took advantage of a Lancer turnover, sent it over to Brisma at the top of the box and Brisma fed a ball through the defense to Hille who banged a low ball in.

The goal marked Hille's fourth in just three matches played, as he made his first appearance in nearly a month following an injury.

After his pair of assists, Cabezas earned a goal of his own in the 59th minute. Brisma forced Longwood into another turnover, this time in the box, and Cabezas flicked a header in off the perfect cross from his teammate.

Yaniv Bazini (73') and Aidan Foster (82') both notched their second goals of the season in the contest to contribute to the scoring attack. Longwood added its second goal late (89') with a rip from the top left corner of the box that beat out NC State goalkeeper Windham Ellis, who played the final 10 minutes of the match.

NC State will make the short trip to Chapel Hill on Sunday, Oct. 3 to take on local rival North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Dorrance Field, and the match will be broadcast nationally on the ACC Network.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. from Dorrance Field and will be broadcast live on the ACC Network with Dalen Cuff and Michael Lahoud on the call.

SERIES HISTORY (NC State trails 22-53-13)
Sunday marks the 89th overall meeting between NC State and North Carolina. The squads also met twice during the 1949 campaign before the Wolfpack was a varsity team.
NC State and UNC last met on Nov. 1, 2020 in a match that ended in a scoreless draw. Prior to that matchup, each of the four previous games between the two teams were decided by 1-0 scores with those decisions split evenly between the Wolfpack and the Tar Heels.
The Pack's last victory over UNC was on Oct. 12, 2018 when the Wolfpack stunned the top-ranked Tar Heels at home.

In an ACC clash featuring two rival Triangle teams, the NC State men's soccer team (5-4-1, 0-3-1 ACC) endured a 4-0 defeat at North Carolina (6-3-1, 2-2-0 ACC) Sunday evening at Dorrance Field.

The Tar Heels struck first in the 31st minute when Fillipo Zattarin played a long ball up half the field to Fisher at the top of the box. Fisher beat out NC State's back line and sent his shot bouncing into the bottom right corner of the goal.

UNC's first goal was scored after an early first half that was controlled by the Wolfpack. All three of NC State's shots in the opening 45 minutes were on target, with Noe Cabezas' saved by Tar Heel goalkeeper Alec Smir (11') and Brad Sweeney (20') and Luke Hille's (27') attempts deflected by UNC defenders.

The Tar Heels doubled their lead in the 69th minute with a goal by Tega Ikoba. Milo Garvanian centered a ball to Ikoba in the middle of the box that was initially knocked down, but he was able to corral it and send a laser just inside the right post. Fisher later tallied his second of the match in the 84th minute, and Gerit Wintermeyer added a score in the 89th minute.

Henrique Santos, Cabezas and Hille forced Smir into a trio of second-half saves, but NC State was unable to find the back of the net. In total, four of the Pack's seven shots were on target.

NC State will round out its three-game road stint on Friday, Oct. 8 with a match at Syracuse. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start from SU Soccer Stadium, and it will be televised nationally on the ACC Network.

NC State men's soccer (5-4-2, 0-3-2 ACC) battled through 110 minutes of action against Syracuse (6-5-2, 1-3-1) to come out with a hard-fought ACC point in Friday night's scoreless draw.

Competing on the road at SU Soccer Stadium, the Wolfpack played with just 10 men for the final 34 minutes of the outing but remained resilient in keeping the Orange off the board.

NC State goalkeeper Leon Krapf made five saves in the match. Two of those came in the second half, including one in the 87th minute that helped the Wolfpack reach extra time having just gone down a man.

Syracuse continued to pepper the goal in extra time, but Krapf and the Wolfpack backline did not budge. In the 107th minute, Manel Busquets of Syracuse got a shot off from just past the top of the box that Krapf knocked down. He coughed up a rebound, however, but was able to cut off the ensuing shot by Deandre Kerr.

The outing was the second overtime draw for the Pack this season, as it also earned a 1-1 decision against Wake Forest two weeks ago.

Yaniv Bazini got off a pair of shots for the Pack, with Kuda Muskwe, Ivy Brisma and Luke Hille also finding quality attempts but unable to break the deadlock.

The Wolfpack returns to Raleigh for three in a row at home against High Point (Oct. 12), Virginia (Oct. 15) and William & Mary (Oct. 19).

The NC State men's soccer team closed out its regular-season road slate on Friday, falling to Louisville in a 2-1 decision.

Two early saves by Leon Krapf kept the score tied up at 0-0. Pepe Garcia got NC State's best look of the first half in the 28th minute, but Louisville goalkeeper Detre Bell was able to make the save to keep the Pack scoreless.
