The Hurricanes have signed Frederik Andersen to a one-year, $2.75 million extension. There are $250,000 performance bonuses for 35 and 40 games played, and for playing in half of the team's playoff games; a possible total of $750,000. This summer's goalie market just got thinner.

Winnipeg had the best record during the regular season and were on the brink of being sent home early in game 7 against the Blues. It was 3-1 and the Jets scored to make it 3-2 with just under 2 minutes to play. They got the tying goal on an unreal deflection with 1.6 seconds left in regulation to tie the game. Jets ended up winning in the 2nd OT. They definitely had the 1983 N. C. State Horseshoe on their side last night.

Here are the highlights.

I am going to game 4. Canes have to use the energy of the crowd tonight to dominate like they did in game 1. A win tonight really puts the pressure on the Caps. As long as we have the home ice advantage as they do now, then I like the chance for the Canes to advance. I expect it to be electric in the Lenovo Center tonight and Monday!

Another buzzer beater last night in Edmonton. Vegas, who lost it's first 2 games at home to the Oilers, scored with .4 seconds on the clock to beat the Oilers in Edmonton. Series is now 2-1 Edmonton.

Here are the highlights.

https://www.nhl.com/news/topic/playoffs/2025/series-l-news/vegas-golden-knights-edmonton-oilers-game-3-recap-may-10

Canes were sluggish yesterday, but Andersen kept them in the game and after Jordan Martinook leveled Tom Wilson, the energy came back and they dominated the last 28 minutes or so.

I am going Monday night and it will be my first playoff game in 3 years, so looking forward to the energy and sound in the building. There is nothing like playoff hockey.

GO CANES!
