The NC State track & field teams concluded action at the Tobacco Road Challenge on Saturday, earning a slew of podium finishes that included a broken school record in the women's 3000m steeplechase.

DISTANCE
Hannes Burger, Gavin Gaynor and Joe Bistritz each earned a personal-best time in the men's 1500m. Burger was the first finisher for the Wolfpack with a mark of 3:44.56 and was followed by Gaynor's 3:45.20. Bistritz clocked a time of 3:47.29.

In the women's 800m, Anna Vess was the sole NC State competitor. The redshirt senior's time of 2:06.99 marked a personal best and was good to put her in the record book with the fifth-fastest time in NC State history.

Gaynor posted his second PR of the day in the men's 800m, running a 1:52.39.

Hannah Steelman posted an impressive performance in the women's 3000m steeplechase, running a 9:46.35 that broke the facility record by over 18 seconds as well as the program record by almost 12 seconds. The time checked in as the fastest in the country.

JUMPS
Chris Alexander tabbed a first-place finish in the men's triple jump, posting a 15.37m (50'5.25") in the event.

On the women's side, Michelle Cobb took first place with her jump of 12.58m (41'3.25")(+2.3) while Jirah Sidberry jumped 11.59m (38'0.25")(+2.0) to take second.

Sidberry tabbed the ninth-best jump in program history in the women's long jump with her personal-best mark of 5.83m (19'1.5").

Douglas claimed first in the men's long jump with his mark of 7.58m (24'10.5")(+3.1) while Alexander got his second podium finish of the day, taking third with an outdoors PR of 7.29m (23'11").

SPRINTS
NC State opened sprinting competition with the 4x100m relays. The women's squad of Imunique Archie, Mia D'Ambrosio, Nia Judkins and Alexis Postell posted a 46.68 for a second-place finish.

On the men's side, Cravont Charleston, Alexander Lang, Von Douglas and Alan Alvarez ran a time of 40.33 to take the first-place spot.

In the women's 100m hurdles, Akira Rhodes placed second with her time of 13.47 (+2.4). She was followed by Brandi Hughes, who took third place with a 13.88 (+2.4).

Joshua Brockman took home the gold-medal finish in the men's 110m hurdles, running a 14.00. Cameron Murray tabbed second with his time of 14.68.

The women's 100m saw Archie earn a PR of 12.14, while in the men's 100m Junpai Dowdy claimed first place with his 10.49 mark.

Caroline Lewis recorded a new personal-best mark in the women's 400m hurdles, posting a 1:07.55.

Archie additionally posted a personal best in the women's 200m with her mark of 24.92. In the men's 200m, Alvarez earned second place as he ran a 21.52. Douglas claimed third in the event with his time of 21.78.

THROWS
In the women's shot put, Emily Shain posted a throw of 12.62m (41'5") to set a new personal best.

TOM JONES MEMORIAL
Junpai Dowdy recorded a personal-best time in the men's 200m at the Tom Jones Memorial, running a 21.35.

VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
Hannes Burger began action for the Wolfpack distance runners, competing in the men's 3000m steeplechase. The junior posted a PR of 8:51.63 for the sixth-best time nationally.

Redshirt senior Elly Henes clocked the second-best time in program history, recording her personal-best mark of 4:15.68 in the women's 1500m. The time checks in as ninth-best in the country.

Hannah Steelman broke a school record and posted a top time in the nation for the second consecutive meet, posting a 15:30.87 in the women's 5000m that was additionally a personal, meet and facility record.

Katelyn Tuohy tabbed the fifth-quickest time in program history with her 15:47.38 in the event, and her time checked in as eighth-best in the country. Mariah Howlett's 16:13.84 and Gionna Quarzo's 16:17.45 in the event both were personal records.

In the men's 5000m, Ian Shanklin posted the sixth-fastest time in the Wolfpack record book with a 13:48.20 that was additionally a PR. Joe Bistritz clocked the 10th-best time in NC State history with a personal-best 13:50.99.

The NC State track & field teams wrapped up competition at a pair of meets on Saturday, setting several PRs and top-five program marks.

TOM JONES MEMORIAL
Akira Rhodes continued her impressive season with the third-fastest time in the women's 100m hurdles prelims. She posted a 13.42 that was good to win her heat and earn her a spot in the final.

Rhodes went on to set a personal-best mark in the event final, posting a 13.13 that replaced the fourth-best time in program history that she held and checked in as the 17th-fastest time in the country.

Cameron Murray tabbed a strong performance on the men's side, posting a finals-qualifying 14.08.

In the finals, Murray recorded a 13.72 for a personal best that was good not only for the 13th-best time nationally but for the second-fastest mark in program history.

Caroline Lewis and Imunique Archie both posted PRs at the meet. Lewis' came in the women's 400m with a time of 59.86. Archie set a personal best in the women's 100m with her time of 12.11.

In the men's 100m, Cravont Charleston earned a podium finish as he ran a 10.15 that was good for second place.

VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
Sam Bush competed in the 800m at the Virginia Challenge and posted a personal-best time of 2:09.55.

The NC State track & field program continued its season on Thursday, competing in several events at the North Florida Invite.

JUMPS
Chris Alexander led the way for the Wolfpack in the men's long jump, posting a 7.40m (24'3.5") that was good for a personal best.

It was a PR for Cameron Murray in the event as well. Murray jumped 7.34m (24'1") to finish immediately behind Alexander in the final event standings.

SPRINTS
Cravont Charleston recorded a blazing-fast 20.16 in the men's 200m, improving his personal-best mark. He was the top collegiate finisher in the race and his time checked in as fourth-best in the nation.

Additionally, Charleston's time was good for the third-best in Wolfpack history.

Henry Young competed for the first time in the 2021 outdoor season in the 200m, posting a 21.44 for a personal best.

The NC State track & field teams saw successful competition at the West Coast Relays over the weekend that was highlighted by a top-10 collegiate time and multiple top-10 program marks.

DISTANCE
Savannah Shaw kicked off what was a big evening for the NC State women's distance runners, competing in the 1500m and setting a personal record of 4:17.46. Her mark was good for sixth-best in NC State history.

In the women's 1500m invitational, Katelyn Tuohy ran a 4:14.56 that was the fastest 1500m time by a member of the Wolfpack in the 2021 season. The time was a personal best and ranks second in program history.

Hannah Steelman recorded a second-place finish in the women's 3000m steeplechase, running a 9:48.38

The biggest result of the night came in the women's 5000m invitational as Elly Henes posted a time of 15:18.75 that ranks 10th in NCAA outdoor collegiate history. The time was a PR and bested the school record by over 12 seconds.

Dominique Clairmonte recorded a personal-best mark in the 5000m invitational as well with her time of 15:47.60.

At the Virginia Challenge, Nate Kawalec ran a personal-best 14:18.42 in the men's 5000m.

The NC State track & field teams saw a successful start to the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with three podium finishes and three All-ACC honorees.

SPRINTS
Track events opened for NC State with Alexis Postell's 1:01.15 in the women's 400m hurdles preliminary. The senior's time was a personal best and replaced her own second-best time in program history.

Cravont Charleston ran the fastest time of the men's 200m preliminaries, winning his heat in 20.51 to advance to Saturday's event final.

Junpai Dowdy and Alan Alvarez each recorded personal-best times in the men's 200m as well, Dowdy clocking a 21.12 and Alvarez posting a 21.35.

THROWS
Kayla Beasley represented the Wolfpack in the women's hammer throw, recording a personal best-mark of 44.10m (144'8").

DISTANCE
Four Wolfpack women qualified for the final in the women's 1500m, led by Katelyn Tuohy's personal-best 14:12.55. Tuohy's time replaced her own second-fastest mark in Wolfpack history and ranks ninth in the nation this season.

Elly Henes won her heat with a PR of 4:15.01 for the third-best time in program history.

Anna Vess ran a 4:21.62, good for a personal best in the 1500m.

Nevada Mareno rounded out the group of qualifiers with her time of 4:21.78.

On the men's side of the 1500m, Joe Bistritz posted a personal-best 3:45.65.

The women's 10000m saw Dominique Clairmonte earn third place as she ran a 32:50.80 that checked in as the third-best time in Wolfpack history. The time sits at eighth-fastest in the NCAA in 2021.

Gionna Quarzo tabbed Second Team All-ACC status with a fifth-place finish in the 10000m. Her 33:24.87 additionally ranks in the top 20 in the country.

The men's 10000m concluded the day for NC State, and Ian Shanklin earned the team's first ACC Championship of the meet. His time of 29:11.28 checks in as 10th-fastest in program history and was good for First Team All-ACC.

Will Anderson and Ben Verchick tabbed personal-best marks in the 10000m as well with Anderson's 29:31.88 and Verchick's 29:48.95.

JUMPS
Von Douglas was the first podium finisher of the day for NC State, claiming second place in the men's long jump. His jump of 7.57m (24'10") was good to earn him First Team All-ACC honors.

Chris Alexander tabbed Second Team All-ACC accolades in the long jump as well with a mark of 7.37m (24'2.25") to take fifth place.

Two members of the team tabbed podium finishes as well as First Team All-ACC honors.

JUMPS
The first event of the day for the Wolfpack was the women's triple jump. Jirah Sidberry tabbed a 12.25m (40'2.25") that checked into the NC State record book as the ninth-best in program history. Sidberry's jump was good for the best in her flight.

Chris Alexander earned a second-place finish in the men's triple jump, recording a 15.75m (51'8.25") in the event. The Charlotte, N.C., native attained First Team All-ACC status with the finish.

SPRINTS
Akira Rhodes clocked a 13.30 in the women's 100m hurdles preliminaries, a time good to earn her a place in Saturday's final.

Brandi Hughes posted a 13.57 that improved her season-best mark and replaced her own fifth-fastest time in the NC State record book.

Ally Henson recorded a personal best, running a 13.95 that was good for the sixth-fastest Wolfpack time in history.

In the men's 110m hurdles preliminaries, Joshua Brockman tabbed a PR of 13.85 that checks into the NC State record book as the sixth-fastest time in program history.

Jada Griffin ran a 54.45 in the women's 400m preliminaries that was good for a personal best. The mark stands as the third-fastest in Wolfpack history.

The men's 100m preliminaries saw Cravont Charleston run a 10.34 that qualified him for Saturday's final. The Atlanta, Ga., native's time was the third-fastest preliminary mark.

Alan Alvarez and Von Douglas each ran PRs in the 100m as well. Alvarez posted a 10.54, and Douglas tabbed a 10.60.

DISTANCE
Hannah Steelman's 9:43.08 in the women's 3000m steeplechase was good to earn her personal, school, facility and meet records. The time marks the second occasion in the 2021 season that Steelman has set a school record in the event.

Steelman's time checks in as the third-fastest in the country.

The NC State track & field team completed ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships action on Saturday, posting six podium finishes on the final day of competition.

In the team standings, the Wolfpack women finished in sixth place with 69 points while the NC State men finished in ninth with 40 points.

SPRINTS
Ally Henson, Mia D'Ambrosio, Alexis Postell and Jada Griffin opened running action for the Wolfpack on Saturday, posting a 45.63 in the women's 4x100m relay. The time was the fastest by an NC State team in 2021 and was good for the sixth-quickest time in program history.

The Wolfpack men's 4x100m relay squad of Henry Young, Von Douglas, Junpai Dowdy and Alan Alvarez took home the first Wolfpack podium finish of the day, running a 39.57 for third place and Second Team All-ACC accolades.

Akira Rhodes recorded a personal-best time in the women's 100m hurdles final, tabbing a 13.06. The time replaced her own fourth-quickest mark in The Wolfpack record book.

In the men's 110m hurdles, Joshua Brockman earned Second Team All-ACC laurels with a personal-best performance of 13.91

DISTANCE

NC State claimed all three podium spots in the women's 5000m, led by a first-place finish from Henes. The 5000m title was Henes' second of her career, and the Cary, N.C., native beat the meet record with a time of 15:34.69. The placement was good for First Team All-ACC honors.

Hannah Steelman took second place in the 5000m, running a 15:39.20 that was quicker than the previous meet record. The finish earned her First Team All-ACC accolades.

Freshman Katelyn Tuohy earned her first ACC podium finish, taking the bronze medal and First Team All-ACC honors with her time of 15:50.11.

Savannah Shaw brought home fourth place with a 15:52.83 that earned her Second Team All-ACC honors.

Kelsey Chmiel recorded a career-best time in the event, running a 15:56.33 and finishing in seventh.

The final race of the day was the men's 5000m in which JP Flavin posted a PR of 13:57.66.
