Today's item is a NC State football signed by Wolfpack legend Philip Rivers!
Philip Rivers will be remembered as one of the best football players ever at NC State.
During his collegiate career, Rivers shattered almost every NC State and ACC passing record. His career ended with an NCAA record 51st consecutive college start.
The Wolfpack went to four consecutive bowl games under the leadership of Rivers, winning three of them, including a New Year's Day victory over Notre Dame in the 2003 Gator Bowl.
He was unbelievable as a senior.
In 12 games, he passed for 4,491 yards and 34 touchdowns, earning 2003 ACC Player of the Year honors and also being named ACC Athlete of the Year for 2003-2004. In his final game, he led the Wolfpack to a 56-26 win over Kansas in the Tangerine Bowl. In the victory, he threw for a career-high 475 yards and five touchdowns.
Rivers finished his career at NC State with 13,484 passing yards, 2nd-most ever in the NCAA at the end of his collegiate career. He also threw 95 touchdown passes, which tied him for eighth all-time with Kliff Kingsbury and Brady Quinn.
Rivers' number was retired before his final home game in 2003.
