I honestly don't know a *ton* about him personally, but I'm pretty involved in NBA Draft talk on Twitter and a few really smart people who I trust view him as a one-and-done, potential lottery pick type player, and one of the clear top 10-20 players in this high school class. He's not a true point guard - more of a combo, but he definitely has some playmaking in him. I think LJ is pretty similar in that sense.StrengthOfThePack92 said:
That's good to hear! Can he be an instant contributor? Is he a true point guard or more of a shooting guard? Who is more of a facilitator - him or LJ?
He's already 20 so he's too old to play at the high school or prep level; he likely would've enrolled early, but we self-imposed a scholarship ban. Apparently he's just training in Florida right nowbraz213 said:
Why is LJ not playing this year? Is he hurt?
Interesting, didn't realize he was already 20 wow. Would have been great to get in here and start working with our S&C folks and practice with the team.Dennis Smith III said:He's already 20 so he's too old to play at the high school or prep level; he likely would've enrolled early, but we self-imposed a scholarship ban. His shot isn't broken IMO, he just needs practice. Which is what he'll TONS of as a professional.WolfpackSI said:
Seabron ain't gonna last long in the NBA. You can already see teams playing his soft and challenging him to shoot
I don't think this is necessarily true - you just need to be able to keep a defender occupied. Seabron has 46 more attempts and 13 more makes at the rim than the next closest player in college basketball, and he's also top 15 in free throw attempts. He's the best player in the country at getting to and finishing at the rim, and one of the best at drawing contact, both of which matter a LOT in the NBAWolfpackSI said:

Never mind that the officials suddenly have started to swallow their whistles once league play started. Imagine if he were getting the same amount of calls in ACC games as he did out of conference.Dennis Smith III said:I don't think this is necessarily true - you just need to be able to keep a defender occupied. Shooting will obviously raise his ceiling a lot, but his teammates will also be able to shoot significantly better in the NBA, so the spacing will help him get into the lane even more

Heard from someone earlier today that Mintz may also officially visit Syracuse at some point

Mintz has all of his visits set. DePaul, us, syracuse and wake last. Strong bet is we will either get him or play against him
He hasn't been *super* heralded until recently, and he was a Pitt commit from June-November, so a lot of teams had full recruiting classes by the time he re-opened his recruitment. This is from an article following his decommitment:WolfpackSI said:Packfan8 said:

A potential OAD with that list of schools? Whats the catch? Something aint adding up here

"According to a tweet from Mintz's AAU coach, Dwayne Wise, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, DePaul, Maryland, Marquette, Xavier, Northwestern and Arizona State reached out to Mintz in the wake of his decommitment. Kansas has also been in contact in recent days."
Not aware of any red flags behind the scenes. Think it's just a product of timing, location, and Mintz wanting to guarantee himself early playing time and a significant role

For those on rivals, what's the bump to? I think he was in the 98-100 range previously.
I was just told on the pay side that it was a free one (which obviously I didn't click haha) but yes, that is a very nice bump for him to be that high.nryanh94 said:CLTWolf said:.@PackMensBball signee @shawnphillipsj1 gets big bump in rankingshttps://t.co/XUWzBeCzZV

Heard on the packpride podcast that there will almost certainly be staff changes. Anyone have any insight on this? Was surprised to hear that

You mean like they do with those "crystal ball" thingys where they can change their picks everytime the weather changes?CLTWolf said:Who are the "others". With something like this you need to show your work. hahaPackfan8 said:nryanh94 said:WolfpackSI said:

Something like that. This Rauf character is an assistant wealth management advisor that blogs in his free time. I can't imagine he's gonna have the "scoop" right now. Maybe he does, I dunno.TheStorm said:You mean like they do with those "crystal ball" thingys where they can change their picks everytime the weather changes?CLTWolf said:Who are the "others".
