Sounds good. We are talking about changing up next year's menu.

I still have an 8+ lb Prime Rib that I need to do. I bought it to make for Christmas, but the wife overruled me unfortunately... now, I just need to make sure that it doesn't go to waste.

I guess I know what I'll be eating for the next week.

Going to grill some chicken wings and drums today. Lot's of football and our basketball team takes the court today. Oh, I'm sure some adult drinks are in play as well.

We just did a charcuterie breakfast board that morning with my spouse's Sparkling wine-strawberry punch and Green Mountain Holiday blend coffee. But we opted for a Christmas Eve steak dinner, I did filets over charcoal, marinaded in a rye whiskey-Worcestershire-extra virgin olive oil mixture sprinkled with Chicago style seasoning, black pepper and parsley.

How did it turn out? Got some pork ribs on the Weber, doing the snake method.

Turned out pretty good. I should have cut the potatoes a bit smaller and I let it simmer a bit longer than the recipe called for. Ill also add another jalapeno or two next time as the dish wasnt as spicy as I expected. Ill make it again though

Try Serranos instead of jalapeños. Spicier but not like, say, habaneros.

Did one serrano and one jalapeno. Had a little kick, but not quite what I was hoping for

I *know* that serranos are "supposed" to be hotter than jalapenos, but I find that to be very inconsistent in real life experiences.

I love a couple of really thin slices of habenero as a garnish on top of a good bowl of chili, and try to capture them in that very first spoonful along with a little of that sour cream dollup as an offset.

Hopefully the power stays on, going to be making some chili and cornbread for dinner. Anyone doing anything on this cold day?

Assuming I don't lose power, doing chicken marsala tonight. If the power goes out, I'll pivot to some sort of grilled chicken

Big time! I've a generator but it's never been tested for a prolonged period, which is what I'm most concerned about. Road conditions have me feeling trapped if backup power also fails. On a lighter note, if the local grid goes down, I may still have power but no internet and therefore no playoffs.

We never lose power at our house (knock on wood). That said, we still prepared chicken soup and chili yesterday. Have plenty of beef, venison, chicken, and pork in the freezer if we need to break out the charcoal later this week.

I get it. I walked out to the main road and it's covered. Hoping for the best.

We did the same, in advance, so as to minimize using the oven and the draw on the backup power. Heat and water are what we gotta have, everything else is flexible. Having good neighbors is a plus. I'm allowing one neighbor to park two vehicles in our driveway because his place is surrounded by trees that maybe ice-impacted. He's not going anywhere so if I absolutely have to venture out on those roads in an emergency, he'll move his stuff so I can lock hubs and hit the road.

Hope everyone still has the lights on. So far we've been lucky, chili turned out great.

Did you use regular Marsala or something else, like Sherry?
