The great irony is that Latinos nationwide handed the election to Trump. You can kiss your fantasies of mass deportations goodbye (not that the business community would have ever allowed it). Trump will pretend he's doing something, of course.
Oh, and I think we can finally put to rest that the people bawling about CHEATING last night even while there were dozens of bomb threats being called in to Dem precincts are officially complete idiots.
You realize that Hispanic Americans (latinos) are for deporting illegal immigrants. We came here legally at a HUGE financial burden to our families. We want these mfers to do what we did.
I hear you.
Do you think it's worth hundreds of billions of direct associated costs?
Do you think it's worth the potentially catastrophic negative impacts to our economy especially in certain industries like agriculture and construction?
Do you think it's worth the personal tragedy of deporting the parents and grandparents of birthright citizen children that are legal US citizens and breaking up those families?
It's going to affect my former industry I know. My former subcontractors are here legally but a great deal of their labor is not. If mass deportations happen they are going to be in trouble which means my industry will be in trouble. Out of 45 subs 3 are own by white Americans. The rest are Hispanic. Most of their work force are here illegally. But they are all great workers who work and go home. Rinse repeat the next day
Well as a white dude in the same industry, I relish the chance to get back work that was subbed out to illegals and drove the prices down on labor. Im working for the same sq ft prices as I did 15 -20 years ago in some cases, all the while forking out more money to insure my company, employees, and vehicles and do it the legal way.
Are your kids going to start barning tobacco, picking cotton, cucumbers? I have been a PM in the construction industry for almost 40 years. Not one single person in a PM role was a hispanic. The companies we used were for the majority owned by legal immigrants. Their workers were mostly un-documented. So when they get deported who is going to fill their roles?
My kids like me will do whatever takes to survive- kind of reminds of the ******ed Osborne daughter that suggested illegal immigrants couldn't be deported because then there would be no one to clean the toilets. I'll clean my own toilet. Btw- not comparing you to her at all.
I'm sure there are people that are willing to do manual labor- just like my 45 year old self.
So noticed and found something quite interesting back in 2008-2011 timeframe when the country went through that depression. I worked for a Fortune 50 company with a huge campus, hundreds of acres to manage and upkeep. Prior to 2009'ish the entire grounds crew were all hispanic, every single one I saw. When tough times hit, all of a sudden you had white and black people joining them and eventually becoming the majority. You do whatever it takes to survive and that was a very small microcosm of just that happening.
There will always be undocumented people in this country, the problem over the last 4 years is they've allowed the worst of the worst to enter our country solely for the purpose of changing a census, getting more power and turning this country forever blue. Glass, they don't give a crap about your tobacco, cotton or cucumbers and if that's why you think they allowed in 20M illegals I'm not sure what to tell you.
