“I’m excited. We’re on an upward trend right now, and I’m just excited to keep that rolling.”
“They have a physical O-line. They’re strong and sturdy. They know what their limits are, and they’re good at what they do.”
“Yeah, [Senior Day has sunk in] a little bit. I’m a little sad.”
“I don’t know, honestly. It’s hard to wrap my head around since I’ve been here so long.”
“I’d probably say [the senior most likely to shed tears is] me, to be honest.”
“What went into that decision [to return to NC State] was where I was at mentally, emotionally, and especially physically. I felt like I wasn’t ready. Coach [Dave] Doeren always says, ‘Don’t pull the cake out half-baked.’ I just wanted to take more time to develop myself, and it’s starting to pay off.”
“Most definitely. Bigger guys like that, you kind of want to hit low. In a way, no, not really, because you want to go get the ball anyway. I’m more focused on the O-line and how to beat them.”
“It’s been amazing [having Rylan Vann on the roster with him]. I couldn’t ask for a better blessing than that. It’s been great every day, being able to hang out, play football with him, and spend more time outside of football.”
“His outgoing personality. He’s not afraid to speak his mind whether it’s holding people accountable or just being social. In that way, he’s inspired me to be more social and be more outspoken.”
“It’s been good. My mom lives about an hour away, so I wasn’t too far to where they couldn’t come to my games, but I wasn’t so close where I was home every weekend. It’s been the best of both worlds. I’ve been able to live the college experience while also having the opportunity to spend time with my family. It’s been great, and it’s especially going to be great having them out there on Saturday.”
“It’s the way I’ve trained; I’ve been more detail-specific. I’m not just pass-rushing on a dummy. I’m pass-rushing with a purpose, practicing those reps, and practicing stripping the ball while being ball-conscious.”
