That's just amazing! Especially considering the Army Corp of Engineers has been there the whole time! Here's a cool graphic on the USACE Wilmington District website... they've already cleared half of the debris out, a requirement to begin construction.

Looks like Trump's reality show is back in full swing.
not to mention the army of private road contractors who have been working since the day after the flood.

I read a stat around a month ago that in Lake Lure (the lake itself) alone, at that time, they had transported nearly 500 dump trucks worth of debris from the lake and were estimating that was around half of the debris.

1000 trucks @ 25 yards is a literal massive mountain of trash, almost impossible to wrap your head around.

Now evidently multiply that volume times 100 and you're on the right order of magnitude for the amount of debris that will be hauled off from WNC ultimately.

Just a colossal cleanup and rebuild operation, made even more difficult by remoteness and weather and geography.
And the ACE has already hauled out the equivalent of 70,000 dump trucks! Insane.

I'm just glad Trump gave the order yesterday to get the ACE down there to finally get started. Finally, a leader! I mean, what was Poopy Pants waiting for?
Maybe if Poopy Pants visited the area ONE time in 4 months it would've made a difference? Nah, too busy writing those checks to Africa and Ukraine. WNC still looks like a war zone 4 months later but sure, temporary housing has sat in Hickory for weeks not being deployed but sure, poopy pants was great and this crap totally isn't the reason he lost and his protege got absolutely curb stomped in the general election.

Biden did visit immediately, and wrote a big check. You guys live in a cartoon world.

Here, maybe this will help:

As typical, Trump showed up and did a glorified pr move. The couple who said they didn't get flood insurance and blamed farm bureau well turns out farm bureau doesn't offer flood insurance, they send those requests to a third party. If farm bureau had flood insurance they would have gone bankrupt years ago.
The ACE has been in WNC right after the storm. Trump didn't invite any of the current leaders on the ground to his PR interview, in fact, many of those invitees blocked state funds from going to disaster relief like fixing roads. But I know the Trump boys will drink the koolaid.

Oh you silly libs and your twist on words. Sure he visited NORTH CAROLINA. Why don't you search and see if he actually went on the ground in Asheville or western NC? Talk to the residents? See the damage first hand? You won't do that because you know the answer. He flew over with Pooper and then went back to cozy Raleigh to talk about it. Then, while you're learning (glad to teach you btw), Google how much money he's given to Ukraine and Africa since he FLEW OVER western NC as compared to what the state got.

I'm sure every bit counts, but that's only $1500 per person. So, what debt was erased entirely? Their phone bill?
