Cornyn clashes with Ken Paxton over support for foreign aid bill -

“Unbelievable that @JohnCornyn would stay up all night to defend other countries borders, but not America,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton posted on X Tuesday morning.#NoCornyn https://t.co/nAE7v2cz8r
🔥Two of the main instigators against Ken Paxton were John Cornyn AND his very good friend Karl Rove (Bush Advisor)! In fact, George W Bush is also a good friend of John Cornyn!

It’s unbelievable what is happening in Texas right now. There is a group of so-called Republicans cutting a deal with liberal Democrats to elect a speaker instead of uniting behind the Republican nominee, @DavidCookTexas! Unbelievable! Republicans have a mandate!

That's why dispersing govt activities down to the County level is even better than the State level. There's a term for it but I don't recall right off what it is. By default, it's a more transparent govt. I think you and I agree on this.caryking said:I'm not sure what's worse….Werewolf said:

Cary, what do you expect Mike Johnson to do? He has no majority because there are two republicans who will vote against anything. He also needs to provide cover for other members to vote no. So unfortunately, he has to negotiate with Democrats to keep the government running. So stuff like this and other things ended up in the bill. He can't bring forth a clean CR because of the populist Republicans.caryking said:
And Mike Johnson wanted this to be pushed through...
On page 757, the bill amends the previously-passed "Prevent Pandemic Act" (42 USC 6627):
"The Secretary may not revise the Vaccine Injury Table to include a vaccine for which the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention has issued a recommendation for routine use in children or pregnant women until at least one application for such vaccine has been approved.
Upon such revision of the Vaccine Injury Table, all vaccines in a vaccine category on the Vaccine Injury Table, including vaccines authorized under emergency use... shall be considered included in the Vaccine Injury Table."
They also added: "An injury or death related to a administered at a time when the vaccine was a covered countermeasure subiect to a declaration under section 319F-3 (b) SHALL
NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR COMPENSATION under the Program."
Sneaky.
Hokie, you really don't know what you're talking about…. These so-called Populist Republicans would have signed onto a clean CR, with no issue at all. A clean CR would be 1 page. Note the previous spending with a new date and you're done!hokiewolf said:Cary, what do you expect Mike Johnson to do? So, you can't have your cake and eat it too. I feel bad for Mike Johnson, because he did what Trump asked him to do, then Trump reversed course and threw him under the bus. And now a guy who is a very staunch conservative is being treated like some pariah because he's speaker of the house.
With the way the house is currently made up, Johnson can't send all or nothing bills to the Senate. They wouldn't go through. So, you're going to get a shutdown. Hope that's what you want because that's what's happening and great patriots (as Were promotes) like Gaetz, and Bobert, Greene are responsible for it.
This shows how much your voice matters!
