Rubio and Vance. Give me two normal Democrats that actually have a chance of winning the nomination.

Normal? LOLOLOL

Hilarious that anyone who voted for or still supports this clown show of an administration wants to talk about "normal."

Are they going to start totally unnecessary wars?
Are they going to impose illegal and economically harmful tariffs?
Are they going to fellate Putin and then turn around and threaten to invade or go to war with our NATO allies?
Are they going to bang porn stars and pay them off?
Are they going to run the government like a kleptocracy and treat the office like it's their and their family's own personal piggy bank?
Are they going to rape or sexually assault women?
Are they going to insult, browbeat, and demean the Supreme Court, the press, and anyone else that disagrees with them?
Are they going to lie like they breathe on a daily basis about all things big and small?

Because none of that is normal, and all of this is what we have now, and you seem to be totally fine with all that.

Newsom. AOC. Ossoff. Bashear. Shapiro. Pritzker. All these Democrats are normal by those standards, even though their levels of progressivism vary. You just don't like their politics.

Pritzker is my favorite, although it's unlikely he's gonna be the guy. We need a lot more humanist leaders like him who are fiscally pragmatic.

We've got an administration that has disrespected and flouted and defiled norms and laws for years, and you want to talk about other politicians being not-normal because of their laugh, or their stance on obscure culture war issues like trans stuff, or because they want to pay for more health care or child care or care about climate change.

It's a total joke of a double standard, and you know it.

I eagerly await your "Whoa, TDS bro!" response because no one on the right can respond constructively to any of this. The only response is to act like it's weird to object to it.

Newsom…with what he's done to California, no thanks. Far left AOC…lol. Ossoff and Bashear, are you even serious? Your party hates Israel but you think they vote for Shapiro? Billionaire Pritzker going to rail against billionaires and an economy for everyone? That would be height of hypocrisy.

We still have two more years. Just think how far left the democrats will be then.

The Republican Party has doused itself in gasoline and lit itself on fire by tethering its sinking ship to MAGA and a disaster of a president and human being.

And you're talking about the Democratic Party's shoes being untied.

LMAO at you criticizing an actually successful businessman that also looks out for people when you eagerly plugged in a bankrupted, fraudulent clown that's turned himself into a billionaire on a crypto scam that profits mightily for him while losing money for everyone else, and openly cares only about enriching himself and his family.

As usual you're all too eager to oversimplify a complicated issue in Israel. The left doesn't "hate Israel." If that was true where are all the Jewish democrats switching parties? You can clearly make the case that Bibi sucks and is leading Trump around by the nose; that the Palestinian people deserve more support; and that we need to take a pragmatic stance on not trusting Bibi with a blank check. Balancing the ability of Israel to defend itself in a region that wants to extinguish it, with the humanitarian need for that war to end, and the plight of the Palestinians (NOT Hamas) is obviously too complex for the current Administration, so they should probably let the adults take a hack at it.

Call me crazy, but maybe you should worry a little about Trump and this Republican Congress' actual failures, and Republicans getting destroyed in November because of it, instead of worrying about problems that may arise in the unlikely event far-left Dem candidates get elected to a boatload of seats around the country.

Bill Maher calls out Democrat Party

- - -

Bill Maher. Van Jones. James Carville are all telling you the same thing I'm telling you but all you can do is "something Trump".

Another thing, I don't think the midterms are going to be as bad for republicans as you are hoping, wishing and praying for. Feel free to disagree.

More boogeymen.

Carville and Jones and Maher are rightfully just saying that infighting on the left is going to hurt the party if they don't get their **** together and selectively ignore the far-left wing on issues like trans activism and Gaza.

But establishment Dems would be stupid not to pay attention to why DSA candidates are resonating, especially in high-cost-of-living locations, and regarding the issues that impact most Americans.

Which of these do you think are going to end America, if implemented reasonably:

Swinging balance of political and economic power back to working class and away from massive corporations
Quality public housing
Affordable health care
Cutting military spending
Being less interventionist abroad
Campaign finance reform

Discussing police reform, de-escalation training, reduction or elimination of cash bail, etc. is fine, but no one is getting elected to a major public office talking about abolishing the police or the Senate.

If the more moderate Dems are smart, they'll see and understand why DSA candidates are resonating, and double down on addressing these issues in their own campaigns without the scary "socialist" label, while openly rejecting the craziest ideas of the far left.

I disagree with you on one point

The war ending against Hamas and Hezbollah can stop whenever they decide that 50 years of terrorism isn't working. They have chosen not to do that, so I have zero issue with Israel making sure that there are no attacks within their borders. I would argue international intervention in the past interfering with Israel wiping out Hamas and Hezbollah has cost many more lives than what has currently occurred over the last two years. The spilling of blood of many Palestinians is not just on the hands of Israel.

Additionally, yes Palestinians deserve better, but deserves don't happen in war, and Israel should not be expected to provide aid and comfort to those who want to wipe them off the face of the earth.

You need to look more at Jordan, Syria, Egypt and Iran as to why Palestinians have suffered and continued to suffer in brutal conditions because they have been brainwashed into thinking their plight is because Israel exists.

That is a point that the Democratic Party leaders say in private but refuse to say in public, and that leaves the messaging to those who are within the party who actually do hate Israel.

I don't disagree at all with your premise, but I have zero belief Israel can end Hamas and Hezbollah militarily. They are not conventional military. They're not ever going to wave a white flag and sign a lasting peace agreement. They're decentralized guerrilla fighters, and insurgencies like this always survive even enormous military pressure. ISIS, the Taliban, IRA, the Viet Cong...examples abound of traditional military and police approaches being unable to exterminate terrorists. Also, civilian deaths like we've seen in Gaza just fuel hate towards Israel and the West, and this sort of conflict becomes self-perpetuating.

Where that belief leads, is the conclusion that Palestinian civilian deaths are for naught and that, at a minimum, there needs to be a plan to end the conflict that's something other than "kill every Hamas fighter."

The biggest value to a robust military response by Israel I believe, is deterrence against future attacks, but I don't think this is sufficiently persuasive to authorize and fund a forever-proxy-war in Gaza against Hamas.

I don't have an answer here, which is why militant Islamism is a massive problem. And I do wish the Dems would dive into that and actually put words to that. Stop dancing.

Confront the issue head-on, and the unfortunate reality that most Muslims are not militant, and do not want violence or war or to kill Jewish people or apostates or other non-believers, but that a pretty small but deadly proportion of jihadist Muslims do, and the the world community has to confront radical Islam head-on.

I do strongly believe that if we're going to fund the war and support Bibi spearheading the effort, we need to understand the plan better. Not to make public the nuanced military plan, of course, but just like in Iran, describe what the goals are and what's being done to achieve them.

What's the strategy? What are the anticipated benchmarks that indicate incremental success? What's the endgame?

You could literally replace Muslims with Democrats. Most Democrats are not Militant; however, the ones that show up everywhere are very similar in nature to this jihadist group you referenced.

Bill Maher.

Trump's electoral strategy is clearly to ignore his own dumpster fire and try to drive up Dem's negatives with hyper-exaggerated "OMG COMMUNIST" nonsense. Of course there's always a segment of Dems who are eager to form up the circular firing squad and mouth Trump's talking points for him.

You honestly think Maher likes Trump or would do anything to help him?

It is impossible for you to consider other ideas. Maher, Jones and Carville are saying the same thing but all you can think is Trump.

Lol, I'm happy to give you about 1000 Republicans who have told you that Trump is a deranged crook. I'm sure you considered their words carefully. Just kidding.

A 2024 review by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), drawing on the Extremist Crime Database (ECDB), found that from 1990 onward:

Far-right extremists committed 227 ideologically motivated homicide events, killing more than 520 people.

Far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated homicide events, killing 78 people.

He thinks that Hamas and the Israeli government are both evil. I'd have assumed that the "both sides" thing would really appeal to you.

he had an event hosted by a known nazi

No, the host's grandfather was a German soldier in WW2 who she said "was one of the first people in my life that accepted me as gay" and described him as "a true testament that people can change and love indeed can win." She was trying to make a distinction that he was just a grunt and not one of the nazis close to Hitler, I'd assume because he was her f'ing grandfather.

Way too nuanced for an American politician to get into, but saying she's a "known nazi" is the kind of stupidity that you usually have the good sense to rail against around here.

Of course Trump happily cheered on known nazis carrying tiki torches in Virginia and storming the Capitol in 6MWE shirts, and that didn't seem to factor into you voting for him at all, so why would you care anyway?

oh, my bad, Nazi sympathizer - he praised his grandfathers service in WWII in a Veterans Day post, you know, when he was fighting for the Fuhrer. So, just as unknowingly tattoo a Nazi symbol on your chest, or you celebrate your family's service to Nazi Germany, those should be things that don't allow you to be anywhere near politics.

I'm not going to debate your whataboutism point. I've already made my peace with the mistake I made and won't make it again.

Ok cool, but just so we're clear, you did vote for a nazi sympathiser and it wasn't a dealbreaker in deciding you'd vote for him. You knew what Trump was all about but you had other priorities. I imagine it's still not the reason you regret your vote.

You clearly hold Dems to a standard that you don't hold yourself to (regardless of the fact that calling that lady a nazi is a joke).
