Here's what I'll say about AOC, and it's the same with Obama and with Harris. I wouldn't underestimate her at the moment (and this isn't me cheerleading for her) but much like the other two, she comes from a district that is heavily democratic so she has a lot to learn.

Obama was able to do to, Harris either wasn't or her hubris got in the way. Time will tell which way AOC can go, but it's too early still to think she's not going to learn and adjust.

Obama is a much more polished and intelligent politician than both AOC and Kamala combined. AOC reportedly spent months preparing for Munich only to vomit a bunch of word salad all over herself. If she has any hope whatsoever for the White House, itll have to wait until 2032. She may be one day, but she is not even close to ready for the big stage yet.

Kamala tried something similar last week with her rebrand/launch/whatever you want to call it with predictable results.

Right now, Id say Gavin is in the drivers seat. Which...sure I guess. He will get obliterated on the national stage, but I honestly dont know who else could possibly through their hat in from the Dems at this point.

I keep telling you guys... watch out for Roy Cooper. He can be packaged nationally as a moderate Dem (even though he's really not).

We agree on just about everything, but I draw the line with any numbers coming out of the CP-Lie. If inflation was calculated via the 1970s method, I'd have a bit more trust in the numbers.

It'll be a cakewalk for Cooper if DC lobbyist Whatley gets the nomination. I know too many conservatives who've said this time, they'll not be complicit in sending a fraud to DC, unless it's a Dem fraud. Whatley has stupidly alienated conservatives at every turn and now the bill for the piper comes due. Don Brown or bust!

Yawn.

Trump hasn't given a speech in YEARS that wasn't a bunch of degenerate word salad. But you don't care and are happy to grade him on the mother of all curves because you want the Red Team in charge regardless. The rest of the drooling MAGA sycophants in the Republican party don't do much better, and embarrass themselves every time they get on stage trying to impress an audience of one.

I'm shocked that you hold Dems to an entirely different standard. Shocked.

If he wants to run in 2028, hes got to pick a lane here shortly.

I still dont see him running, at least not at the top of the ticket. Could easily see him as a VP candidate

A whole lot better, hence the WSJ's description as being "in retreat."

And from a construction spending standpoint, the sad irony is that the Biden administration's policies were disproportionately helping red states.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The Bidenomics Investment Boom in Red America

The MAGA/Trump crowd is so dug in and pot-committed at this point. It's a massive case study in sunk cost fallacy.

It's OK to just admit tariffs have been a massive failure and apply electoral pressure to change direction. That's a perfectly appropriate response to economically awful, and unconstitutional, policy.

It's almost like you WANT your President Trump to fail?
pointing out that we're not in the "golden age" isn't wanting the country to fail.

Isnt electricity is supposed to be 50% less this year? That was an actual campaign promise.

If you make these sweeping policy changes and frankly dumb rhetoric in your stump speeches, I would expect accountability, it doesn't matter who is in charge.

I don't think the government is allowing the economy to be efficient, which is what we need to combat the deficit. We're nowhere near that metric.

After four years of your guy effing the entire world up, I'm willing to give it more time.

I know you want to GET TRUMP but why do democrats set the world on fire then complain when someone doesn't put the flames out fast enough?
hokiewolf
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Do you not understand that I don't care about Trump. You DO, I do not. I care about how the country operates economically and right now it's not efficient.

We've already been over this, do me the favor of hearing me.

Trump's tariffs and the persistently high rates are hurting the economy, the housing market, and therefore hurting my business.

What I want and what we all need is for either Trump to kill the tariffs himself, or for Congress or the Supreme Court to force him to.

I don't give two ****s who's in office, I care a lot more about the US economy and my business doing well than I ever will about who specifically made that happen. Trump's in office the next three years regardless; give me the good economy to go along with that at least. Trump in office and a bad economy is lose - lose for everyone.

I see…it's all about you and your business. The country be damn.

Maybe we could start a go fund to help you meet your responsibilities?

Marco Rubio continues to impress me greatly. It's a shame the rubes are going to nominate Vance.

It's definitely impressive that Rubio gave a speech in GERMANY that completely intertwined national security with the "erasure of Western Civilization" stuff, and didn't once mention that whole "purify Western Civilization" thing they tried that directly led to Europe's "decline" in 1945 that he was bawling about.
if that's what you got out of that speech, we have heard different things and more importantly a different tone

i see now, the new post liberalism is to enact policies that affect the everyday small businesses and then demonize them as selfish. Nice comrade!

The government does not "give" money, it should refrain from taking it.

For example, there's a popular mechanism on this forum that is doing that, but I can't talk about it anymore.
