I lean heavily to 1), just because humans are wretched at keeping secrets. It's why conspiracy theories that require extended and broad deception are basically impossible to execute. Two or three people can't often keep a secret, much less dozens or hundreds or thousands of people.

And even if a fairly small group of industry insiders can keep nefarious, poorly-kept-secret-stuff under wraps for a while, like Epstein, Weinstein, Bill Cosby, etc., when people do finally start pulling on the sweater string, the sweater unravels pretty damn quick.

And the opposite is also true - the more time that goes by, with a bunch of eyeballs and even people actively working on exposing a "truth," that "truth bomb" becomes far less likely with each passing day that no affirmative evidence of the "truth" emerges (Trump's 2020 "Election Fraud" lie).

With that many people looking and pulling at the sweater, if something MASSIVE was up it would unravel in a nanosecond.

In this case, I actually believe Pam Bondi's explanation that she had the Epstein case file on her desk and that's what she was referring to when she was asked about the alleged Epstein client list and said "it's on my desk right now" or whatever. Now, just like Trump and Elon and others that hover around them, I don't think she or Trump minded one bit that her loose description did nothing to quell speculation and chaos around the situation because Trump craves drama and loves Deep State insinuations that dog-whistle to conspiracy theorists and alt-right kooks.

"Those who use violence against law enforcement officers will be found and prosecuted using the toughest criminal statutes and penalties available," Larson said.

Shortly after, an Alvarado police officer arrived at the detention center in response to a 911 call and was shot in the neck by one of the individuals. Another assailant shot approximately 20 to 30 rounds at the unarmed correctional officers who were also present, according to the complaint.

The individuals fled the scene but were later apprehended, including Bradford Morris, who was taken into custody during a traffic stop. When Morris was detained, an officer discovered multiple firearms, including two AR-15-style rifles, ballistic vests and a helmet in his car, the complaint states.

And the opposite is also true - the more time that goes by, with a bunch of eyeballs and even people actively working on exposing a "truth," that "truth bomb" becomes far less likely with each passing day that no affirmative evidence of the "truth" emerges (Trump's 2020 "Election Fraud" lie).

With that many people looking and pulling at the sweater, if something MASSIVE was up it would unravel in a nanosecond.

In this case, I actually believe Pam Bondi's explanation that she had the Epstein case file on her desk and that's what she was referring to when she was asked about the alleged Epstein client list and said "it's on my desk right now" or whatever. Now, just like Trump and Elon and others that hover around them, I don't think she or Trump minded one bit that her loose description did nothing to quell speculation and chaos around the situation because Trump craves drama and loves Deep State insinuations that dog-whistle to conspiracy theorists and alt-right kooks.

I agree, some huge "list" of the elites, all being part of a decades long pedophile conspiracy, is certainly nonsense, for all the reasons you mentioned. Is there in fact a short list with a handful of influential people diddling 15 year olds? It wouldn't surprise me. And given Trump's history of being a creeper running around beauty pageant dressing rooms, his close ties to Epstein, and the fact that he acts incredibly guilty every time the subject is directed at him (watch the "I barely knew them but I wish her well and hope she keeps her mouth shut" video again), it's hard to not assume that he would in fact be on that short list if it exists.

It's always struck me that they knew this was a political vulnerability, which was the reason this ridiculous massive pedo conspiracy was created in the first place, in true "always be on offense, and hang all of your vulnerabilities on your opponent" fashion. It's just politically hard to point a finger back at someone who is already pointing at you. Of course it quickly morphed into Trump's messianic image of THE ONE who can put a stop to it that they've milked as much as they can.

I dunno, maybe it was inevitable that this particular bullsh** train would crash into reality once they fully controlled the Justice Dept, and couldn't keep up the perpetual "we'll release it next month" game with Elon's accusations forcing the issue. But insisting there's no "there there" now risks massive blowback in MAGA world, which sure makes Trump look desperate and even guiltier.
