That chart behind Schumer slays me. Like that guy gives a hoot about the deficit
Of course, I'm sure "both sides" makes you feel better about watching Republicans blow another massive hole in the debt, just like they always do.
It's been more than obvious for ages that you guys don't really care about the debt. Republicans campaigned on increasing the debt. You voted for it. And here it is. Again. Maybe it'd be more pleasant for everyone if you just stopped bawling about the debt being a world-ending issue. Clearly it's not.
Right.
Every election during the campaigning it's the right playing pocket pool with each other being downright giddy over cutting taxes.
Then when the Pub candidate gets elected and the massive impact to the deficit of lower revenues and increased spending becomes impossible to ignore, all the solemn (and fake) "where have you gone, true fiscal conservatives?!?" murmuring begins on the right, as if it wasn't patently obvious the whole while that the tax/spending plan the candidate got elected on was going to supercharge the deficit.
This whole act has gone on for decades and is tiresome.
Stop being the don't-tax-and-spend-more party AND ALSO whining about the debt.
You can have lower taxes or you can have lower deficit/debt growth but you can't have both, and nobody is buying your fake concern about the debt as you stick a steady stream of dudes in office that are positively horny over the thought of cutting taxes for corporations and their rich buddies.
