So, I'd like to believe that the Administration wants to use this plane for Air Force One but reality tells me Trump just wants a new plane to fly in when he's not President anymore. We can weigh that vs the issue that Qatar is buying influence from many, many different people and institutions in the US including universities and the media.
So, just don't think a plane is a good idea on top of all the other questionable gifts/funding others have received, which is a lot larger than a plane.

You do understand there are lots of military aircraft that get overhauled, right? Some with much more capabilities than air force 1.
Recently (well before Doge) maintenance / overhaul contracts changed from cost (plus what ever you needed) to a fixed budget. Government does not just pay you more if you do not do your job on time and on cost. This made a few of the contractors much more efficient and more creative. There are a few that are run very well and can do things much faster at a much lower cost than Boeing. Which is why I asked why does it have to go back to Boeing.
