This will directly harm the construction and manufacturing industries. Raw material tariffs are the worst of the bunch.

Tooling used for most all machinery. Percent of the global manufacturing by country:

Germany - 15%
Italy - 8%
US - 7%

Here's one for you Dems…

So, the Democrats didn't get the votes for the CR, passed by the House. The House has left DC for the weekend or more, I don't know…. Now, consider this… When is the government shutdown?

While we are in the shutdown, the OMB and Doge will have to prioritize expenditures, right? Will they start to shut down more agencies, while the government is shutdown? Did Schumer and team get played?

I don't know the answers; however, this does provide for an interesting scenario…

Juan O'Savin says Jake Sullivan is in above his eyeballs on a lot of "stuff". Jake's in so deep he's likely to be one to "sing".

Yep. Last time we tried this we added something like 3,000 steel jobs and lost 25,000 jobs in other industries that have to rely on now-higher-priced steel.

Penny-wise and dollar-foolish.

I have to buy 2-3 tanks of gas per week. Yesterday morning at Costco I got it for $2.529 which I considered to be a good price considering what it was two months ago. When I went to Clayton down highway 70 it was $2.429 at Auburn Knightdale Road and $2.499 in downtown Clayton. Prices are definitely coming down on the gas front.

Another nugget that the MSM isn't report is the several threats to Trump. Two weapons seized when Trump was in the vicinity. Once at the the US Capitol and then at the White House in the same room with Trump........not to mention to violations of the flight restrictions around Mar a Lago.

Egg prices are dropping like a rock.

New jobs for native born workers finally outpaced foreigners for the first time in a year.

There were 10,000 new manufacturing jobs after Biden averaged a loss of 9,000/mo.

Trillions of dollars in new foreign direct investment in high tech industries and auto manufacturing.

Government workers lost 10,000 jobs in February vs. last two years of Biden where one-in-four new jobs created under Biden were government jobs.

Tariffs will cause short-term ups and downs, but they also have the potential to force huge, long term benefits.

Trust the process.

I'm not Trump's biggest fan though I believe he's doing needed things. But I'm not going to credit him for lower prices just yet, many forces outside of him are at work. Right now, new optimism masks individual debt burdens, several subprime credit crises, a commercial real estate crisis still ongoing, immense government debt, and a pressing need to finance that debt.
