I disagree!
of course you do Cary, why would we be in the business of protecting our interests in Europe, which has a higher GDP then Russia and China? I agree, those guys deserve what they get! They aren't thankful enough to the US!

You can save your tears, it would require 60 votes in the senate.

Question for you master negotiators, why wouldn't Trump negotiate with Russia like this: Stop your advancement on Ukraine and come work towards peace, or the US will send another $200B in military aid to Ukraine. How is that a weaker negotiating tactic? How is that extending the war since Russia wants to stop fighting (allegedly)?

I know the competition for stupidest Trump idea is fierce, but this is up there. So many questions!
  • Where is the money coming from? I don't recall Congress passing an appropriation. Or does Trump do appropriations now?
  • Wait, are we buying out crypto holders and adding it to the deficit? Is that what we're doing?
  • Do we even need a crypto reserve? Are we worried about running out of crypto?
  • Doesn't the Trump family run a crypto business now? This seems like cartoonish levels of corruption, doesn't it?

question, if the invasion of Ukraine was a response to "NATO aggressions" (which is against the whole principle of NATO), how exactly does annexing Ukraine make Russia safer from NATO? It's still next to NATO countries.
#Gobbler he just laid the receipts at the EU Parliament's feet.......and I just laid it at yours. Facts are facts. What's not clearly said for the sake of diplomacy is that the 2014 color revolution was a CIA/Soros operation.

how many NATO countries were forced to join? Why aren't we tariffing the **** out of Sweden and Finland? They created a whole new NATO front by volunteering to join. They're just as guilty as Ukraine!

#Gobbler, you recall scoffing at my post about the USA having bioweapons labs in Ukraine?

Juan O'Savin says these facilities are conducting - amongst other things - research and development of biological weapons designed to attack Slavik (Russian) DNA. You might say this is an act of war, might you not?

Exactly.

Like I said a couple of days ago:

1. Meet with NATO allies, develop resolve to go to Russia with unified front
2. Tell Russia that the US and NATO nations have the resolve to fund aid indefinitely until a satisfactory peace accord is reached

This preserves relationships with allies, presents a unified front, and seems to be a much stronger tactic than bending over for Putin before he even asks for anything.

Trump negotiates in front of an audience, so no I don't believe that he's said that to Russia. And once Russia rolls tanks into Kyiv, I'm pretty certain more people will be murdered by Putin than saved by Trump. Same goes for the Baltic countries when Putin decides to invade them, Romania, Maldova. Slovakia, I think you get my argument.

Biggest difference between my argument and your is that you trust Putin, and I do not. I don't trust gangsters.

What is the point of negotiating with Russia when Zelensky isn't interested in negotiating a peace deal? Zelensky isn't going to get Ukraine in NATO nor get a security deal that would dictate/require US soldiers to fight.

Trump doesn't trust Russia/Putin. No one does. But you can't even try to negotiate a cease fire or peace deal unless both sides say they are open to it.

If only. Trump has a 60% stake in World Liberty Financial, a new crypto platform. AND THAT'S WHERE HE WANTS TO HOUSE THE STRATEGIC CRYPRO RESERVE! You can't make this sh** up.

For good measure the Trump family also has a majority stake in another company that's pivoting into crypto financial services.

So what do you propose? Keep funding a war that will ultimately be won by Russia?

A peace deal will be impossible without concessions by both sides.

I hope Trump takes Z and Europe out of the equation altogether and negotiates an end to the war with Putin alone. The head exploding would be next level.

I'm not clear on precisely what leverage Trump has to get a single thing out of Putin. Or perhaps I should say, what leverage is there that he is willing to employ to get a cease-fire from Putin.

Trump saying crazy **** and using extreme anchoring is probably his favorite negotiating tactic, even if it pisses off all our friends and allies in the process.

Canada/51st state; buying Greenland; forcibly taking the Panama Canal; and indefinite tariffs are all examples of things Trump almost certainly won't do despite threatening to initially.

Why is that OK, but it's not OK for the US and NATO nations to use a similar tactic while aligned with each other and negotiating against Putin?

Because Putin holds all of Trump's cards and is an alpha male who could start WW3 at any moment.

Please ignore that he's in such bad shape that his front line is reinforcing with North Koreans now.

Those are two totally different answers, no?

Trump has always seemed over-eager to ingratiate himself with Putin but that doesn't mean there aren't obvious ways to get Putin's attention that don't involve sensual massage.

Seemingly on the table:

1. Providing sanctions relief
2. Reducing or ending military aid to Ukraine
3. Heading off NATO expansion
4. Economic incentives for Russia
5. Improved geopolitical standing for Russia

I think it has more to do with Zelensky doubling down on stupid saying the end of the war is far far away. Basically saying Ukraine is in it for the long haul and peace deal be damned.

Zelensky acting like he's ready to quit fighting does nothing for his negotiating position.

I'm sure he wants peace and for the fighting to end but it doesn't serve him or Ukraine well to just fold. If he does that he's negotiating against himself and emboldening Putin to do it again when he gets an itchy trigger finger.

He needs compromises, and he doesn't get that by groveling and saying he's calling off the troops in a couple of weeks.

Are you a plagiarist too? What does this hysterical rant have to do with what I posted?

The EU doesn't want to end the war. We do. He was voted in to end the war. Not by you. You want to continue to let millions die because you don't want Trump, and thereby America, to be successful. Trump won and is following through on all of his campaign promises. EU leadership wants to keep letting Ukraine lose and America helping foot the bill. We, the winners of the election, don't want that. **** Europe. If they want war, they can have it without our help. Democrats used to want to end war. But then Trump decided he wanted to end wars too, and now Dems don't want wars to end. So interesting....
