Keep cutting. If the democrats want to be in power again come election season, force them to make the case to the voters that all this spending is needed and should be reinstated. The world will not have collapsed in on itself by then, as much as they'd have you believe that. It'll be a tough sell.
Agree. I think most Americans are in favor of cutting the size of government. If Trump and company can get the elections where there is not massive fraud, then like you said, it will be a tough sell.

Wikileaks, hardly a right leaning entity, reports that USAID was funding over 6000 journalists worldwide over 1000 different platforms. Oh the corruption of our tax dollars is wide and deep. This is just the beginning in my opinion.

It is the tip of what will be the most scandalous period of time in American history. It will include treason, sedition and crimes against humanity with #'s of convictions to the tune of several hundred thousand. Yes, I said several hundred thousand. The individuals will not be exclusively American citizens.

I understand there can be up to 99 individuals named within each indictment, however, the same individuals will most certainly be named in a number of indictments. The actual # of people is therefore indeterminant as these indictments are sealed.

Did I hear it correctly? The junket for the Republican Congressmen down to Florida, they were in only able to come up with 319B in cuts over 10 years???

I'm telling you, these people aren't serious. It's time to ask for massive tax hikes to close the gap on our deficits immediately. I say that because we can't cut a damn thing, so we need to tax the hell out of the rich, middle class, and the poor. Everyone needs to start paying far more. We need roughly 1.7T in new revenues.

So, folks…. I'm ready!! Raise the hell out of taxes!!

lol at the right freaking out about subscription services.

I think the taxpayer is freaking out. Why the fk can't some leftist government bureaucrat pay for his own media subscription service? Why should a hard working taxpayer pay for it?

Politico Pro is an arm of Politico designed for professionals whose jobs require access to in-depth, real-time intelligence on policy developments. A lower-tier subscription will get you reporting "across 22 coverage areas and an advanced technology platform that includes legislative and regulatory tracking tools, government directories, transcripts, outreach trackers and more." The next tier up will get you "a library of analyses and infographics outlining key policy and legislative issues as they develop."

Politico is a general-interest publication that's free to read. Politico Pro is a tool for motivated wonks that costs thousands of dollars per year for a subscription, the public policy equivalent of Bloomberg Terminal. Members of Congress, federal agency employees various and sundry, lobbyists, and corporations all might plausibly find use in it.

So no, this isn't a magazine subscription or a trade publication. They are basically outsourcing information gathering to help shape policy. To me, it's probably cheaper to have a subscription to Politico Pro then for every agency to hire people to repetitively do the same job.

I saw that last night and was going to post it today.

Probably the most detailed indictment of the current strategy, but also most detailed suggestion for how to trend hard in the right direction fiscally, that I've seen.
The sad part is no one cares. If they did, they would look for serious solutions instead of nickels in the couch cushions. And don't get me wrong. I'm still good with figuring out which govt programs work and which don't, and finding efficiencies to reduce waste, but the hard stuff will never be discussed.

Combo of not caring and there being significant political pain involved to make the tough decisions and nobody has the gumption.
#Sieve, you and #Gobbler need to own this. It's what you support. So much more coming.

Nice to see you're identifying as a supporter of the Epstein Island Jeffrey. You will own your support of the Democrat pedophiles in the end. It's coming soon too.

Gobbler and Sieve insist it's worthwhile spending. We'll soon see those recipients. It might end up including Gobbler's Jeffrey Epstein after all :-)

That sounds great, but why are these payments being funneled through USAID and not paid for out of the yearly budget of each agency that needs this service?

Also, instead of outsourcing this service I don't understand why it wouldn't be more cost effective for the federal government to hire internally to gather this important information and then disperse it to the agencies that it would help. It seems inefficient and shady the way it's being purchased and delivered.

Any thoughts on my second question as to why a hard working taxpayer should fund a group of blue haired liberal women to travel to Guatemala and inform the parents of a six year old boy that unfortunately a doctor assigned him the wrong gender at birth?

Trust me, 50B or more in Medicare is just the beginning…. Next, they need to go right over to the Pentagon and they will probably find 100B+. Then, they need to slim down how we operate in Pentagon.

Here's the real deal…. nothing will happen! No one has the balls to make any cuts. So, I'm shifting my position.. tax the hell out of every single person in the country. We have to balance the budget and this needs to happens one away or the other…

#Gobbler and #Sieve, your USAID Democrat side is batting 2 for 2. You have the US Senate blocking the Epstein flight log and your side is making sure the Paley Center receives additional funding the year Sean P. "Diddy" Combs became a board member. Nice job, we see where your support lies.

they aren't. The licenses that USAID bought for $44k is what USAID spent. The TOTAL across all agencies, Congress, White House, etc is $8M and is in their individual budgets

When has the government ever done anything that costs less than a private entity? Would it be less shady if this info was generated by "the swamp"?

To answer your second question, no I do not think that's a good use of taxpayer money. If you have ever read any of my posts, you would know that I would never believe that's a good use of taxpayer money and should be cut. But to pretend this exercise with USAID is for fiscal reasons is just not wanting to see the full picture.

Given the USAID nonsense, I'm confident Elon will find TRILLIONS in Medicare waste. They'll breathlessly post 10,000 examples of Medicare providing healthcare for Hamas or transgender puppies. No matter how many times the examples are proven to be bullsh** it will never occur to you guys to stop trusting the people spewing the bullsh**.

If the "real journalists" you refer to are the ones who kept telling us how fit President Potato Head was for the last four years, I'm sure their work will be enlightening.
