glad we're getting to the important stuff first, like this and revoking the secret service details for Bolton and Pompeo. Got to get those grudges settled so they can get murdered by the Iranians!

Why did they even have a ss detail to begin with? Shouldn't have happened. Plus. F Bolton. And the jfk/rfk/mlk thing was a campaign promise that he said he'd do day one so he's a little late but on it. Now we need the Epstein docs released. Unredacted.

Gas prices in my area went up. Groceries are not cheaper and the war Ukraine is still going on. When are things going to get better? Good thing Feds gotta go back to the office.

I'm torn on the birthright citizenship. Like most people, I never questioned it, its just what we do.
But in looking into other countries, I think only 34 countries have birthright citizenship, but most of those have a requirement that one or both of the parents be a citizen.
And most of the countries are in the Western Hemisphere which people say is because of colonization. IDK.

I have some Chinese friends who used a surrogate in Macon, GA to have a baby. This baby is 100% Chinese, but because she was born here, she is an American. Has a passport.
I saw her a few months ago while in China. She loves telling everyone she is an American!! Only 6 years old.

This is one of the examples that should be questioned, IMO. I don't blame the parents, they followed the law. But not sure if this was intended when the amendment was added.
Bolded is where this needs to stand. Your example about the Chinese family is part of the problem. Any person(s) that have come here, for vacation or any other reason, should not have a child granted citizenship, because the child was born inside the US.

No rational person (my opinion) should think that's ok. That said, we have a bunch of irrational people all around us.

Biden probably didn't release the list because Trump wasn't on it.

I don't get why people want the Epstein List or the Diddy list released. Certain people seem so obsessed about it. Is it just to see people burn?

There does seem to be that an argument can be made on the wording on the 14th amendment.

That's why we have the Supreme Court. They can decide it.

A lot more than one Senator was involved in passing the 14th Amendment, and whatever his intent may have been, it wasn't written into the text that everyone else voted on. This is fever swamp nonsense, but we have to pretend an argument can be made. Who knows with this Supreme Court, though? They have a long history now of head scratching decisions for "the cause".

Anyway, here's a fun experiment. See if you can prove your own citizenship right now. You'll quickly notice that your parents' birth certificates don't have a "citizen" box on them. Centuries of record keeping has relied on the assumption of birthright citizenship. Get rid of it, and congratulations, birth certificates aren't enough. You're citizenship is now in question. Yes, you!

Everyone in the country would need to go through an expensive process of combing government records looking for proof of their ancestors' naturalization, and a new huge bureaucracy would need to be created, along with a new form of "citizenship" id.

And of course the whole "no birthright citizenship starting now" thing is nonsense. That'd require a new amendment. A decision that ditches birthright citizenship but somehow grandfathers everyone in would be as "legislating from the bench" as you can get.

Congrats on the dumbest post of the day. You really sparkled with that one!
Given your inability to articulate an actual argument ever, I'm gonna assume you're a non-citizen. Gonna need to see some proof. None of that "my grandparents were born here" birthright citizenship crap allowed.

Two edits for you to articulate this point-LOLOLOL.

Been here since at least 1750. Family records start in Horry County around that time. You?

So then pass a new Amendment. If it makes as much sense as you say it shouldn't be a problem. Fascinating how conservatives who are chronically incapable of legislating anything have put all of their chips on an extremely activist Supreme Court legislating for them.

Trust me, the pendulum will swing back eventually, and you've now taught lefties how to get rid of the 2nd Amendment once and for all. Forget ages of precedent. Just get activist justices to reimagine what "well regulated militia" means!

On my dad's side I have a revolutionary war vet, but my mom's side are late 1800s Scottish immigrants with actual naturalization papers. So boom, citizen. "At least 1750" sounds like a bunch of generations of illegals giving birth to illegals to me.

agree 100%
They have a detail on them because there is a credible threat to Bolton and Pompeo's lives from the Iranians for advocating Trump to kill Qasem Soleimani.

You guys have already well established that there are Iranian hit squads in the US. They want their pound of flesh revenge and those two guys are in the crosshairs. But, because they dared to do the dastardly thing of criticizing Trump, he has held a grudge that apparently was one of the most important things on his mind because he removed their details within the 1st 12 hours.

Great boss, taking away their security detail for something he ultimately did and then put them in danger of being retaliated against, and killed. Whatever you think of Bolton or Pompeo, they don't deserve this treatment.

They'll squeak out a 9-0 ruling dismissing this nonsense, maybe Sotamayor and Thomas will write the opinion together. That would be a first and that will show exactly how stupid this argument is and will be. But hey, then DOGE can tell us all the money that was wasted because John Eastman is still an idiot.

Being that i am States rights person, I agree with Trump. Go read about Grover Cleveland's position on the Texas Seed Bill in 1887. His position has been co-opted by liberals (progressives back then only to be resurrected by HRC some years ago) for far too long.

How is providing necessary security for state actors, the need for which arises from their past service to our country, any different than the need to provide appropriate health care to retired vets or 9/11 first responders?
