Lol, it's so magical seeing a team of billionaires scouring the government looking for ways to squeeze the working class in order to afford another billionaire tax cut.

I'm sure the irony of unelected billionaire a-holes going after "unelected bureaucrats" is lost on everyone.
did you read the article? Finding efficiencies in government and providing means (ie spend money first) to do so is a good thing. Will that lead to a reduction in employment? Yes, and that is also a good thing. Another good thing would be to improve the software, technology and customer service of the IRS.

How about not spending billions to design a US Postal Service specific last mile delivery vehicle and just use something already in the market?

All good things, but as I said, it won't be enough and taxes are still going to have to increase for everyone to pay for the rent-seeking schemes that politicians have enacted that frankly haven't helped anyone.
They've signaled pretty clearly that they want to take a hatchet to Medicaid. Whether you think we can afford it or not, you don't think Medicaid has helped anyone?
They aren't going to be able to "take a hatchet" because there is little inefficiencies there to be hatcheted.

There are things that need to be done to fix inefficiencies with regulation of the healthcare industry and private insurance industry to drive down the cost of medical care and make Medicaid more efficient cost wise.

I think Vivek is smart enough to realize this as they dig into things.

The fundamental problem is that one person's inefficiency is another person's profit. The dirty little secret is that the only way to tackle the inefficiencies in the system is to be willing to take on the doctors and health systems who are gaming the system to maximize profit.

Is DOGE willing to take on the doctors? I won't hold my breath. I suspect they'll just try to find some legal trickery to strip healthcare from a bunch of people.

Truly lol at hokie and his pals fear mongering about Putin and Russia NOW. Putin has already said he's willing to negotiate an end with Trump as president, assuming their guy doesn't start WW3 before Trump gets in office.

Seek help, TDS boys. You're pitiful. Maybe one day you'll be right with your predictions about Trump.
nope, I've been consistent with my position for a while now. You can ask your buddy werewolf

Trump will bring both sides to the negotiating table, and Putin will get the territory he wants, which will end the war and that is a good thing because contrary to your and others beliefs, I don't like war, but I at least acknowledge that when it is in the best interest of the US to intervene, they should. And we disagree about this stance and you resort to mocking and name calling like a child and I'm supposed to join a militia or I'm a chicken ***** It's just such a disingenuous way to argue.

So a truce will happen, I'm thankful it will end the war, but it's not going to help the standing of the US in the world and it's going to strengthen Putin, an actual really bad guy.

Ending the war does not hurt the US standing, nor does it strengthen Putin.

Putin being rewarded for militarily annexing part of an adjacent sovereign nation very clearly strengthens him in multiple ways.

The Donbas region in Eastern Ukraine is rich in coal and industrial capacity.

Russia being rewarded by invading a sovereign neighbor is a very visible success as Putin tries to reassert Russia's power and resist Western influence. It also strengthens nationalism in Russia and rallies public support at home.

Ukraine ceding land and being weakened with a loss of territory and resources makes them less of a threat to and buffer from Putin's authoritarianism.

You can say you want the war to end, but nobody can say Ukraine ceding territory isn't a clear win for Putin.
Precisely.

Is anyone over the age of 65 even insurable in the free market? Sound like you'd be dropping life expectancy pretty dramatically. And of course anyone with pre-existing conditions is screwed, too. Or anyone who gets cancer and has their plan dropped. Or... Or... Or...

The free market brings a lot to health care, but if your goal is to ensure more than a third of your population has access to that health care then the free market just isn't sufficient.

Why do you go to the worst case scenario always? You can continue to regulate that stuff, just open up the market and let folks have more choice in their insurance. Get rid of CON laws, they don't help keep healthcare prices down. They limit competition for your services.

WARNING: I'm going to be critical of Trump here.

This is misguided. Tariffs and other protections have not positively helped the Steel Industry in the US. Nippon Steel is offering to buy US Steel and keep those jobs in Pennsylvania and invest heavily in the steel industry in the US.

This would be a huge win for the Steel Industry in the US. Blocking this sale will only kill Steel production in the US for good.

Why would that matter? They aren't going to pick up the buildings and move them to Japan.
The Union and the current president of US Steel have begged to let this go thru.

Either let the sale go thru or let US Steel shut down. Keep the government out of it.

Do you think Trump will direct his administration to do anything about the obvious election fraud being committed by Democrats that goes on in our elections?

Trump sent out messages on social media saying that those who cheated in the election would be prosecuted.

We need major action on this. I know states have authority over elections, but something has to be done, on a nationwide level. Florida took significant actions over the last few years (eliminating all the ways the Democrats cheat), and look how the state shifted Republican in the election results by a lot.

Why does a company doing business in the US have to be a US company? Many of our (US) largest companies have corporations in other countries and keep their profits in that other country (See Apple).

I love seeing the BMW plant in SC. Lot's of American workers there as well as all the support companies that built around it. Michelin being one (French Company). All of them are employing American workers.

If Nippon Steel does purchase US Steel, Nippon will create a US subsiderary, which will be a US company that will pay taxes in the US on its profits (if there is any). And employ American workers.

Its a win/win for everyone.

Dang…. All I asked about was a US Company. Nothing more. I fully understand how international companies work. It would be nice to see US Steel being a US owned company. Hell, I don't even know if it is today.

1) That shipment was probably sacrificed

2) it doesn't save lives because drug addicts are going to seek out drugs, all we are going to do is make them pay more for it.

3) Fentanyl death are down this year, does that mean the war on Fentanyl is working? no! It means that a scarcity of product has now produced an increased amount of demand for Heroin and Cocaine, while driving up the price of Fentanyl.

So congrats, you save no lives, you've enriched the drug producers more money, and for that you've also risked the economy of the US.
