Trump's latest crappy endorsement right here in the Triangle? Brad Knott. This character put out radio ads before the first Primary claiming "I'm not a politician"…conveniently omitting the fact that his family are a bunch of DC insiders. Turns out that Tucker Knott, chief of staff to Senator Ted Budd, had his boss go down to Mar-A-Lago and secure DT's endorsement for BK against front runner Kelly Daughtry. Not the smartest move by either Budd nor DT as Daughtry's Johnston County is a major GOP stronghold within NC and I've been told a whole lot of folks down in Johnston are POed.
A friend of mine knows Brad Knott and he is saying the ads against him, by Daughtry, are just false. Now, he said he is voting for Daughtry; however, the ads are just plain wrong.
Turnabout is fair play, the crap Knott threw at Fred von Canon behind anonymous PACs like that one based up in Louisburg were totally wrong as well. That said, we don't need another George Holding (Tucker Knott was also his Chief of Staff back when) taking care of Raleigh and ignoring the small towns and rural counties. Aside from that, I admit to a bias, I don't much care for the Holdings (the First Citizens Bank Holdings) or the Knotts, both families run in the same circle of snooty aristocrats.

Louisburg got a shout out!

I'm from there, small town.
My family is from the Louisburg area.
Is the Murphy House still around? I think that was the name of a BBQ joint up that way, buffa style.

It's a Sheetz now unfortunately

They used to have awesome seafood buffets on Friday and Saturday. Also had chitterlings (chittlins) on the buffet.

Yeah that place was awesome. Can't exactly remember the year, but it was around 2011 when it closed.

Yup. Lived in that corner brick house until we sold it in 2003.

I was always very fond of Bill King. He was my youth minister for a few years. Good man.

Jay and Joyce Ayscue, passed on now, but I went to their house a lot. I'm a Bowers. My aunt and uncle still live over there.

Not in the building that it always was. I think you can buy their products in stores.

Yeah I think you can still buy some of their side dishes in stores, like coleslaw. But the building was demolished to make way for the Sheetz.
Do you still live in Louisburg?

I don't, but I still have family up there. I live close enough to visit every so often.
I never lived in Louisburg; however, my mom is from Gold Sand. I have relatives that still live there.

My dude! I'm from Gold Sand. Grew up right on 25 Gold Sand Rd.
My mom was an Ayscue and my father was a King. Right across the street from Gold Sand school is a family member of mine. They live on the Foster family land.

Edit: just looked it up.. you were right there at the school.

Bill King was my uncle. His kids, Tony and Angela are my cousins. Tony passed now. My mom, who grew up on Gold Sand Rd, is Joyce Ayscue. I think there are two Ayscue's in that area, as my mom is still living.

BTW, my father (who has passed) was Payton King, Bill's brother. I'll ask my mom about the Bowers. She graduated from Gold Sand HS. She is 81 and still kicking...

Very cool. Im sure your mom knows my dad and uncles. All lived in Gold Sand and graduated from Gold Sand high school too. 67-71 or so.

Angela was always involved in the church too. I went to Mt Zion, right up the road. Tony was a great guy too. Very sad to hear about his passing a few years ago.

Remember Trump's recent visit to Chick-fil-a where all the black women went gahgah and couldn't get enough of him. Well this wasn't lost on the Biden Administration and their weaponized DOJ.

"We've got him this time," the spokesperson said. "What we saw at Chick-fil-A yesterday was yet another example of Donald Trump flouting authority, the rule of law, and democracy itself by taking an exorbitant number of sauce packets with his order. As part of society, there are certain rules regarding courtesy and human decency. Taking handful after handful of Chick-fil-A sauce is something we cannot allow. He's gone too far this time."

When asked about the latest indictment, Trump was as defiant as usual. "MORE PHONY CHARGES!" he said in a post to his Truth Social account. "SLEEPY JOE BIDEN AND HIS CORRUPT JUSTICE DEPARTMENT ARE NOW CHARGING ME WITH TAKING TOO MANY CHICK-FIL-A SAUCES. I TOOK THE CORRECT AMOUNT. THE PERFECT AMOUNT, SOME WOULD SAY. THE DEMOCRATS DON'T WANT ME TO HAVE ENOUGH SAUCE OR AMERICA TO BE GREAT AGAIN! WITCH HUNT!"
