Ok just kidding about changing the discourse

These guys feverishly jerk off while Trump treats blue cities like occupied enemy territory, and you're wishing that "both sides" would calm down the discourse? Lol, of course you are.

Nasty post but unsurprising coming from you.

Here is my take on Smapty…

Smapty came here and created this nasty discourse. I responded with my own nasty discourse. Everything elevated from there. So, yes… I am a contributor to the nasty discourse; however, it's my opinion that Smapty created the environment that allowed this to dissolve.

Prior to Smapty, I don't remember the significant nasty discourse. Yes, we had parting shots with others; however, nothing like today. Heck, I remember when we used to debate issue…

ok, I had my issue with Chem at one time. Heck, I reached out to Chem, in a DM, trying to clear the air. I wouldn't say we resolved anything. Chem no longer post here and that's really sad.

Lol, this place has been a toxic waste dump for years. You really haven't noticed that the owners and even the moderators of IPS won't set foot in the Water Cooler? They're terrified that you'll "Cracker Barrell" IPS so they keep their heads down and just hope you stay in here.

Prior to me I just don't think anyone who is "openly Dem" was willing to set foot here for more that a few days (Hokie voted for Trump, and I assume Civ wishes there were sane Republicans he could vote for). Feel free to look over the archives, they're pretty comical... the "nasty discourse" was generally me suggesting that Biden didn't in fact poop his pants on stage, followed by 10 of you insisting that I have to be a transgender Marxist troll, there's just no other explanation. Trust me... you deserve MUCH nastier discourse than you get from me.

Nice discourse…

Smapty, regardless of the tactic you claim Trump is and will use, what is your opinion of these blue cities?

I'm not asking you to give a solution, "if" you think they are bad. I'm asking your opinion on these blue cities…

Anyone who's primary exposure to big cities isn't Fox News will tell you that they are WAY better than they used to be. When I first moved to NYC from NC people joked that my neighborhood used to be where people went to buy heroine, you wouldn't go east of 1st Ave on a dare. Now it's all dog parks and Starbucks.

Here's actual data that shows the point:

So yes, Trump has manufactured an excuse to "invade" blue cities (strangely no interest in high crime red state cities). Actually, he didn't, this was LITERALLY WRITTEN DOWN AS PART OF THE PROJECT 2025 PLAN to transition America away from democracy, which he seems to be following to the letter so far. Are you pretending to not know that, or do you honestly not know that?

Smapty, why don't you let the owners and/or admins speak for themselves? If they choose not to come here and say something, then that's their prerogative, right?

Personally, I have no issue with people commenting, posting, or whatever. I'd love a healthy debate on any issue. If people choose to avoid the water cooler, then that's their prerogative as well…

It's my opinion, most threads, in the sports forums, are as toxic as some say the water cooler is. Honestly, the most sane thread is the one on NASCAR, within the Light it Red area. Most people pull for different drivers, manufacturers, or whatever…. Everyone is respectful and heck, one of the Admins post there. They know who I am and where I post. This person and I DM each other somewhat frequently and guess what? He and I have different political leanings. It's amazing how some can get along, regardless of differences, isn't it?

Believe me, the owners of this site 100% already know that Smapty is coo coo… notice how he always tries to speak for them, but it never gets any validation.

I mean he probably got some agreement from glass, but that's about it.

I think it says a lot about him that he keeps trying to make an issue about this board, when he is far and away the worst offender posting here on any kind of regular basis.

Not to mention that he's got the wrong stance on basically everything… and he still can't figure that out.

Complete lack of awareness at the highest level. I didn't honestly think anybody could be that f'n stupid, but he's proven me wrong on that one.

I have no issue with Smapty having a different stance than me. I guess what baffles me is his talk about the WC being so toxic. Why in the world would a person subject themselves to such a toxic place?

Smapty, why do you continue posting here if it's so toxic?

Certainly not to convince degenerates like TheStorm (lol) of anything.

Think of it as community service. In a time of total Orwellian bullsh** it's important to remind the folks who stop by but don't post that what you're trying to yell into existence isn't in fact reality.

We are currently at war,my friend, and you haven't a clue. Yep, it's not a kinetic war ....just yet. You'll be thankful - I presume - if it breaks out sand we have a reliable supply chain. That's a primary element of the reason for the tariffs.

Hyundai smuggled in slaves to work in their factory and we're pretending like S Korea is demanding we care for their citizens while deporting them? Lol. Bull*****

No, it is typical for when these factories are built, that the Koreans or the Japanese bring in workers to help the contractor with assembly line equipment installation and to train new workers. They come here on B-1 visas. These are technical, highly trained employees of these companies.

So for instance, I replaced a lathe in a plywood plant that was from Japan. We had a dozen factory workers from Japan who came to the plant and helped the rigging crew set the lathe, started it up and did qa/qc, then trained the maintenance staff.

Same with a woven glass sheet manufacturing facility I. Gastonia. We had 7 pieces of equipment that made up the assembly line that were from 7 different European countries. All of those manufactures brought workers to the site to do the same tasks. All of this is done leagally.

I am skeptical that all of the Koreans are here illegally, considering that Hyundai is a multi national corporation who has built many factories in the US would jeopardize their investment for "slave labor". There I no such thing as slave labor in commercial construction in the United States.

Do research before you spout off.

"Offensively kill in international waters first, ask questions later" is a just a slightly different but similarly erroneous spin on the initial Garcia deportation.

It's this Administration unconstitutionally twisting and expanding executive powers under the premise that we are at undeclared war vs. a variety of foreign enemies.

The continued gratuitous use of the military for policing and to be the judge, jury, and executioner of non-combatants outside the US is alarming stuff to anyone that's paying g attention.

If by "my leader" you mean Biden, when exactly did he defiantly claim he had broad wartime executive powers when in fact, he did not?

There was clearly no attempt by the Biden administration to do what Trump is attempting to do, which is to label broad swaths of foreigners enemy combatants so that he could illegally use the military against them, or use the military to police cities on an emergency basis.

Perhaps. They say history repeats or at least rhymes. In any event, what Trump is doing now doesn't seem all that different from Jefferson's and Madison's responses during the 1st and 2nd Barbary wars.

I love the people who star this post like you've owned me, you can't come up with a single argument to my point here. Maybe, just maybe sometimes this administration gets it wrong. There's nothing wrong with that.
