This articles clearly says that even Trump advisors agree tariffs are a tax on consumers.

It hides behind tariffs only causing a "one-time price adjustment" and not steady-state inflation (which would only potentially be true if tariffs were rolled out all at one time in a consistent manner, and this process has obviously been anything but that) but whether you surf or ski, what consumers feel is the prices have or will go up due to tariffs.

I'm not sure consumers much care whether prices go up in a single larger increment or whether they drift up over time.

So what exactly is your point?

Where is the benefit to American consumers? Prices will go up. What about their income? Will tariffs help increase that? Why should consumers want tariffs in place?

Cracker Barrel's original logo in 1969 and for its first 8 or 9 years was only words (no Old Timer). This new logo was a callback to the old, words-only logo.

The Old Timer was added in 1977 and has remained since.

So no, the new logo was not a spitting image of the old logo.

Yes, the new logo was a reversion to the old, words-only logo approach, with no Old Timer.

While our competitors are raising prices due to tariff increases and the expiration of de minimis import exemptions, we're doing the opposite.

Instead of passing raising costs on to the customer, we're lowering our prices delivering even greater value when customers expect to pay more elsewhere.

Now, I didn't post the balance of the email showing the changes as it includes private information; however, I thought this section was important for you to see.. As you can see, not all companies are held captive to country's that are enemy's to the US.

I never gave a **** about the logo but I love how the arbiters of truth have gone from "they just used the original logo" to "they're just using a logo similar to the one they had before". Lol! Your people have set quite the precedent with the Redskins, Indians, uncle Ben's, Aunt Jemima, etc. so I completely understand people with a vested interest not liking the new logo. I get the incessant willful ignorance by the Dems to not understand the Cracker Barrel patrons opinions as the goal is always to own the right, but most importantly to own MAGA!!!!!

No, every company very clearly cannot do that.

The companies that can and will are fortunate and are operating on higher margins than agriculture, basic manufacturing, commoditized retail, and many other lower-margin industries. Luxury goods, specialized tech, others have more cushion.

My electrician that runs two three man crews in a competitive labor landscape isn't eating copper price increases. He's just not. He can't. He doesn't have the size or the margin. There are thousands of other companies like him that can't or won't.

This argument about "good companies will eat costs and bad companies won't" is untethered from economic and practical realities.
