the families of the hostages have stated that Trump being elected changes the urgency of the talks from Hamas. So, yes he deserves credit, albeit not by normal means. It's still a bad deal, one that Americans would never take, but it is very popular amongst the Israeli population. The trickling out of hostages over time is a ridiculous stance for Hamas to take.
