M Obama would solve the money issue. Whatever the Biden campaign has in their coffers, she could dwarf with a couple of fundraisers and then absolutely drown the Trump campaign in ads, events, etc. The Biden money would be chump change by comparison and they could roll without it.

Replacing an unpopular candidate with a more unpopular candidate is certainly a strategy

Who are we kidding, you were voting for Trump regardless (which does kinda call your judgement into question). But thank you for your concern!
They could present someone who would be more popular than Biden and probably win, but pandering and what not takes precedent

You really think they could not choose the current VP who was also just democratically elected in the recent primary and not cause big problems? It was always going to be Harris if Biden stepped down. The only drama is who will be her VP pick.

Aren't there 2 states where Biden cannot be removed from the ticket? I know one says only if he is dead. Maybe we oughta short Joe Biden life insurance

That's likely true, but were he to conveniently die in the next 3-4 months, well…..they've been stretching the credulity of the American people to the breaking point for quite some time now….not sure they'd reap the benefit of that as they might expect.

I am 100% on board for Kamala to be the Democrat presidential candidate. This 14th amendment question re Kamala is out there. Something to be cleaned up if nothing else.

This is a "weekend at Bernie's" situation.

It would seem that Joe is incapacitated just based on what his brother alluded to. In addition, Joe hasn't made an appearance. Seemingly didn't write the letter either.

If he is, then they have to implement the 25th, making Kamala the president. They likely don't want her to take over as she will be exposed as the bumbling idiot we all know that she is, losing the election.

They would rather pretend that Joe is okay and in charge, kick the can down the road, prevent Kamala from being exposed so she has a better chance at beating Trump.

Kamala has to be the nominee just based on campaign finance laws. But they don't want her to fail miraculously before the election.

So, we have Weekend at Bernie's

Simply a side note.....don't get your panties in a wad.

For example, a Chinese couple arrives here in the US as diplomats - and both CCP Politburo. They have a child 25 days after arrival in Alexandria VA. Should that child be eligible to be POTUS and Commander in Chief?

Why would it seem like Joe is incapacitated again?

He's 81. Huge difference between his likely abilities the next 6 months vs. the next 4.5 years, no?

The American people deserve to know if their president is alive, alert, capable. The fact this was made public through Twitter suggests he isn't alert or capable.

Pretending like he's okay is what the dems are doing. They aren't willing to suggest that Joe may just be incapacitated, laying in a hospital bed somewhere, not able to run the country.

Or perhaps he is well, but doesn't agree with being forced out and by putting him out in the public eye may lead many to believe this is a coup.

So either it's a coup or we need to implement the 25th amendment.

A guy in his condition with Covid probably will be in bed for 2 weeks.

In all seriousness, the man likely only has 2-3 more years left to live in his condition which makes this farce even more crazier that the Dems propped him up as a literal puppet in front of the entire world. We are viewed as a total joke abroad.

Dramatic much?

He looked halting and slow at the debate but has had multiple public appearances since then where he looked like nomal Joe.

This move has been rumored since the debate. It's novel historically but had been discussed for weeks and not surprising based on how the last few weeks have gone.

He probably doesn't like where his support had gone since the debate but his support dipping precipitously is a rational reaction to how he looked at the debate.

He said in his letter he'll address the American people over the next few days.

"Coup?" LOL. That word doesn't mean what you evidently think it means. He'd lost the trust of his party and Democrats to beat Trump and carry on another four years, which he begrudgingly accepted and eventually stepped aside for the better of the country and his party. That ain't a 'coup', by any definition.

First, it isn't "his letter". It was a Tweet that was sent out on a Sunday afternoon.

Joe hasn't made an appearance in a week. His last appearance was of him needing help to get off of an airplane and into a car. The time to make an appearance is when you address the American people to notify them that you are not running for re-election.

No one tweets a resignation, especially not the president of the United States.

Call it whatever you want, however, this isn't how democracy works. He was forced out against his own will. Against the will of the people.

Dems just hate democracy. Dems are the threat they wish Trump is.

there is a lot of ppl on here that are letting their hatred of harris and democrats cloud their ability to see things clearly. Trump has a problem here with harris. they are both horrible candidates and likely to do more damage than good but IF harris gets the nod quickly and carries the momentum through the DNC then im not sure trump can recover. shes going to rejuvenate the base and the media is going to eat this up. trump has a ceiling around 50% and there is still voters that are just looking for a reason to vote for someone else other than trump. for those voters specifically, i think they go with harris even with her inability to run an office or use intelligible sentences.

Harris is polling worse than Biden in most places. Harris will help in metro cities and State's that are irrelevant.

Harris will not excite people in the swing state's (the only one's that matter). The DEMS can run up the score in New York, California, etc and gain nothing.
