Pretty much, exactamundo. Roll with Trump and that's what you get. I can't believe smart people can't see it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with fighting for what you believe in but do it honestly or close to it anyway. Many of those judges are Republican; the Supreme Court is full of them. Many of the election officials that Trump fought with blatant lies are Republican. If something is done wrong and you know it..you have some evidence that stands up in court.Dmax95 said:Wolfpackrich1 said:pineknollshoresking said:You guys need to quit quoting rich. Roll back regulations on climate change? Like the Paris Climate accord that should of gone through the treaty process in the senate but didn't? It was a **** deal and anyone who read through it knows it. We were going to give billions a year to third world countries to improve their manufacturing, while having to cut back on out production. The biggest polluter in the world, China, didn't even have to start trying to meet the standard until 2032. Same for India.
Gutted the state department? The president is in charge of the state department. He gets to run it however he wants. But the fact that you had ambassadors who refused to put his picture up in the embassy, even though he was president, was a joke. You had people in the state department who testified to congress that the president should be following how then wanted to run foreign, not the guy we elected to manage foreign policy. They should of all been fired.
Offended Allies? Do you mean like England or Australia? Ya know....the countries that quite literally helped the CIA and FBI spy on the Trump when he was coming into office? Or are you talking about backing out of the Iran deal? A deal that we weren't allowed to verify that one side was actually doing what they were suppose. As far as the CoronaVirus......I get that it could of been handled better. I also think that its pretty disingenuous of you try any put all of the blame at the feet of Trump. The states were in charge of their own restrictions and policies, not the Federal government. That's how it should be.
Raising money for a fraud campaign? For starter the guy is having to pay court cost and the cost of audits, lawyers, and whatever else is part of that effort. That doesn't make it a fraudulent campaign. There's lots of evidence that fraud was committed during this past election.

The Republican Party has lost their way under Trump. I do not see them getting it back. You just lost the Presidency by almost 7 Million votes. You have lost the poplar vote 7 out of the last 8 elections. I understand about electoral votes and I understand how it works and yes I understand it is the law. The electoral vote 5 out of the last 8.
You control the Senate by the skin of your teeth and that is with a majority of votes also. No I do not wan to change how we elect senators I am just making a point that you are governing from a minority electorate.
And before somebody points out the Democrats control the House by the skin of their teeth. I realize that. But it is with a majority of the electorate.

As much as people are going to raise hell about it the legislatures do have the right to do it. The question is what is Pence going to do in January. Since there are enough states that are sending separate sets of electors Pence can decide to either accept or deny the second set. Since enough states have gone this way to take the number of votes away from Biden he needs to win I think that Congress is going to vote for who is the next president. It gets really interesting them because each state only gets one vote with republicans holding the advantage there.

You don't "pick a side and follow it blindly". The only thing to follow is the truth. If you like one side or the other that's fine, but if they go astray or deviate from your beliefs, it's really your duty to call them out on it, and leave them behind if they don't straighten up.
That doesn't mean you're obligated to "switch sides" at all. The truth is the truth. Both sides have told it. Both sides have also shunned it at times. That process swings back and forth throughout our history. That's unfortunate, but that's politics. It's our duty to realize which one is on the wrong side of the truth and call them out on it.
You have to put up with a certain amount of "untruth" with any politician or party. But there IS a point that it becomes too much and then it's your responsibility to call that out.
It's long past that point with Trump. It's one thing to "call out power"...yeah, he's done some of that. I liked that myself. The media needed a good tune up, nobody had challenged them, basically in my lifetime.
But he's also acted like a child and has LONG gone past the point of merely "calling out power", and crossed over into "acting like a spoiled brat celebrity who's had his ass kissed so long that he's out of touch with reality".
That much has been evident for a long time, but he still got some good things done so people looked past that.
But it's gone too far now.
The whole "blindly following" is very bad for the country right now. People do that with celebs, for some reason. Let someone publicly insult Taylor Swift, and her minions will be all over them, cancelling them out. That's happened with many celebs, many times over the years.
Now we have on in the White House, and his fans just blindly eat up whatever he says, without a bit of thought about "Now that doesn't sound right, let me investigate that a bit".
That's not a good thing. He's not "calling out power" now. He's just being a whiny little ***** about everyone in the media not kissing his butt like everyone in his inner circle does, (and if they don't, he fires them) and he's lashing out all over the place, not wanting to accept the reality of his very legitimate defeat. And he's doing what might be irreparable harm to our country. He's turning Republicans into flat earthers, in essence, based on what you have to ignore to believe all these bogus claims.
This is the point where everyone should be saying "Look dude, you did some good things, but come on now....it's over", and jumping ship. This is where "blindly following" is very, very bad.
The Pubs following Trump are now seeing him double down on stupid, and they're going right along with it instead of jumping ship as they should be doing. It's sad to see.

Record low unemployment before the virus, booming economy,
manufacturing coming back,
renegotiated NAFTA to much more favorable terms,
getting NATO allies to meet their obligations to the alliance,
much better control of our Southern border (was supposed to be impossible),
crippling of the ISIS caliphate (was supposed to be impossible),
Bringing China kicking and screaming to the negotiation table, and making excellent progress,
Finally moving our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem,
fixing long term issues at the VA that previous administrations couldn't handle,
Bringing many of our troops back home, where appropriate....

Today we get another nail in the coffin of replacing the worse President this country has ever seen. Donald J Trump
Has totally gutted the state department and offended allies that America will need one day.
Done nothing but rolled back regulations designed to help with Climate change.
And lied every day about something. Not just a slip on tongue or misstating of some hard statistics. Outright lies.
The same Iran that were yelling in the streets "Death to America!" Or are you talking about our neighbors in Central America that were forced to take care of their own populations and not send droves on people here illegally to the US. Your mad because the guy stood up for the country instead of just bowing down to everyone else.
Your problem is that you hold the guy up to a standard of being holier than thou and then absolutely **** on him because he isn't and the only reason that you do it is because of the letter behind his name. If he was a democrat you would be fine with what he was doing. You would say that he was elected by the people to manage foreign policy and how he manages regulations. You can admit to that....its ok. The truth is that Biden is going to be put in office in a few weeks and you are going to sing the guy's songs like he is the next coming because of the letter behind his name and the next time a republican is elected he is going to be the worse human in the world again......
Republicans want to win so bad they will back Trump when it goes against every democratic principal this country was founded on.
Please just look no further than Sydney Powell Who Trump claimed was a lawyer on his team for election fraud tell she went to far with outlandish claims. But if you just read a few posts up and you will see a person on here still posting her outlandish claims as facts on here.
The right make words like Liberal and socialist bad words. Trying to make a villain. yes if any type of political view is taken to far it is bad thing. Please keep in mind that goes for Conservative or Trumpian.
It's absolutely stunning (okay, not really any more) that the party of the Clinton's and of the grandaddy of all liars, 0bama - makes any complaints at all about lying. My goodness - dems lie as easily as they breathe, and almost as often.
America has prospered richly under Trump's leadership. The turn around from the "managed decline" that 0bama was given us has been nothing short of a miracle.
And he had to do the vast majority of the work on his own.
There are no words available to express the foolishness of moving from the golden age we've experienced under Trump - to the geriatric drunkard lying Chinese bag-man, mafia leader with dementia Biden.
Probably the single dumbest thing a large group of people have ever done in recorded history.
hahaha wow "golden age we've experienced under Trump" might be the funniest and most misguided comment I've ever read on this entire website! That's honestly hilarious. You should try standup!
Its not a cut and dry thing. Pence could very easily decide to throw the election to the congress which would make it interesting.pineknollshoresking said:The way I understand things.. Even though the state is sending democrat electors, the legislature of each state can send electors as well. When you get dueling electors from a state the VP gets to decide which to accept, or not accept either.cowboypack02 said:
Apparently the Arizona Legislature is also looking at sending electors to vote for Trump as well - If so that's 4 states.
This is fun....
We haven't seen anything like this since the 1880s. Wild man
They actually don't have the right to do it. They are constrained by their own state laws.
Did he just say "violating their own state law" in regards to this election?
Is this the Twilight Zone?
Lol...the legislatures in several states would like to have a word about their own courts circumventing the constitution to change election laws
So, I don't think its as cut and dry as: if the Governor doesn't certify them, then they are not legal...

Listen, I may be following this stuff blindly. We pick sides. Some have picked Biden, some have picked Trump. At the end of day, the process will see its way through. You may not like what's going on; but, you can't stop it.
Just quit the ad hominem attacks and realize people just don't agree on things. People on here have a massive distrust in power: media, big tech, government, Wall Street, China, etc... is Trump perfect? No. What people like about him is his calling out of power.
Here's an excerpt from the Washington Examiner yesterday, hardly a member of the liberal media.
"Trump has been extraordinary, though, in severely reshaping one specific part of the country: his most loyal supporters.
However you account his effect on the country writ large, you should lament how Trump has harmed the souls of his followers. His dishonest (or alternatively, insane) performance since the election (claiming that the vote was stolen and then promoting or countenancing conspiracy theories to craft an unfalsifiable story that he deserved a second term) is Trumpism boiled down to its essence. It's a more concentrated version of what he's been doing all along: trying to destroy anyone he sees as disloyal and demanding increasingly extreme and immoral things from those who pledge loyalty to him."
"It is, of course, a choice. Nobody was forced to choose Trump to the point of rejecting truth and law. And I suppose it's unsurprising that politics would be filled with so many who bow to political expediency. But a better man, and a normal president, would not demand so much debasement from his party mates and supporters. A good leader would not lay such moral traps before his own followers. But we weren't given a good leader. We got Trump instead."

There have been so many lies and fabrications from Trump that the've become completely normalized.
I remember right after (within days) of his inauguration in 2017 and KellyAnne Conway used the phrase "alternative facts" to describe Spicer's description of the allegedly massive crowds (that were actually quite small) at Trump's inauguration.

"The media" is thousands of reporters, writers, editors, etc. All make honest mistakes from time to time. Some have political agendas. Essentially none of them bold-faced lie multiple times on a daily basis the way Trump does.
But regardless, we don't elect the media. Around half the country chose to put a compulsive liar in the President's chair.
We should all agree that his treating the truth as an inconvenience that can just be edited to suit him has been terrible damaging for our country.

Fast forward four years and we've all been subjected to Trump's "alternative fact" deluges via Twitter and in his press conferences virtually every day of his administration. For tens of millions of his sheep, he literally spoke a fabricated alternate reality into existence where his lies are true, and media and people that dispute those crazy lies are in on the conspiracy against him, or against the right.
Electing a contrarian with original thoughts that are untethered to conventional Washington wisdom = great.
Electing a trashy, petulant, impulsive, insecure, ill-equipped child that has a hyper-dysfunctional relationship with the truth and calling that guy a contrarian = extraordinarily damaging to our country.
Latest example: There is zero evidence that Hunter Biden has done anything wrong. A flat out lie!!!!!
You can just go to any month during his Presidency, take any 10 tweets and most of them will likely be lies.
We overlooked them because of 2 reasons:
1. The economy was going well and that's what most people care about.
2. It made the media go nuts and many of us still enjoyed their gnashing of teeth
But now it's different: He's lost. It was fair...as fair as any other election. There was nothing unprecedented about this one, other than voter turnout. He lost. He hasn't accepted it like a man. He's now lashing out right and left and absolutely poisoning the atmosphere in the country. He's ruining all the good he did.
And folks like you are basically jumping in front of a bullet for him, with zero regard for the facts.
It's very sad to see.
