Give Nance the effing ball.
I was coming here to post the same exact thing.

Wiggins sitting all year for Fraasman is one of the most inexplicable lineup decisions I can ever remember. Clearly hurt the team all year.
I would be furious if I was Wiggins.
NC State rallies from five runs down to cruise past Stanford, 12-7, at Klein Field in Palo Alto, California.

This is a huge game today. A win today and the magic number becomes 1. Feel pretty good that we will pick up a game at home against UNC.
If Nance's arm has bounced back from last week, we should be in really good shape today with Nance and Andrews. I just hope it is in that order if Nance is ready to go.

Plus Ragusa and Manuel. Should have plenty of arms. Just have to get it done with the bats again.
Most games/series have gotten enough pitching to win. Just a matter can they do enough on offense.
Time to make mom proud.

For people who like to talk baseball yesterday performance by Harris triggers an interesting topic. The way that coaches recruit pitching has to change and I believe you will see that start to happen moving forward. I think we are going to see a move away from simply chasing velo to much more focus on pitch ability. P4 guys at this point can turn around 95/96 just as easy as they can 92/93. We have a stable full of guys who can run it up there but are mostly ineffective because they can't actually pitch.
It requires much more time and probably more trust in certain travel programs for evaluation but I fully expect the approach to recruiting is going to start shifting to a focus on movement and command. The game is moving back to movement over velo. More focus sinkers, cutters, change ups than 4 seem fastball with a slider. You have to keep hitters off balance with stuff that moves both ways. Guys hit velo too well right now.
It will be interesting to watch how quickly State transitions their recruiting philosophy. Give me the 88-90 HS guy who can pitch and I can build his velo to 92-93 with a college nutrition and weigh room over the showcase guy who can hit 95 but can't pitch for ***** Right now, the P4 approach overwhelmingly is the 95 guy who can't pitch. You see evidence of it everywhere.
Lineup 50.

Alex or anyone that knows, what high leverage bullpen arms are available today? I watched late yesterday, but missed Friday's game completely.
Well, high leverage might be too specific. Who do we have down there available that you trust to pitch today?
Need this game. Hopefully the bats are hot.
