Oh no doubt. Texted Ethan today after he was surprised we left him in against a lefty to just stick with it. Neither have been good, but Wiggins can at least run into one. You sacrifice some defense but whatever.

Rhett now batting .414 with 1.014 OPS and 3:1 walk/k ratio on 198 appearances. Absolutely insane

Wiggins sitting all year for Fraasman is one of the most inexplicable lineup decisions I can ever remember. Clearly hurt the team all year.

I would be furious if I was Wiggins.

Give Nance the effing ball.

I was coming here to post the same exact thing.

Glad we didn't do that. Hopefully we give him the ball to start the game tomorrow.

NC State rallies from five runs down to cruise past Stanford, 12-7, at Klein Field in Palo Alto, California.

The Wolfpack improves to 31-18 overall, 13-13 in ACC play.

WP: Sam Harris (2-1)

NCSU will again face Stanford on Sunday at 4:05PM in the final road game of the season.

Watched the 2 homers in the first inning, then we had family over and then the Canes on TV. Surprised they came back and won. Good on them.

I imagine Anderson will start tomorrow or be in fairly early if we can get a couple of innings from somewhere else.

Probably won't get to watch tomorrow either. Planning on going to the air show in Havelock. Help them through guys!

GO PACK!!

What a performance by Harris yesterday. Maybe a season saving performance. Hats off to Wiggins staying ready when his opportunity arrives. Big one today. Get the W and I think that wraps up an invite in the tournament regardless of what happens next weekend against the Heels. Although getting at least one would be nice.

This is a huge game today. A win today and the magic number becomes 1. Feel pretty good that we will pick up a game at home against UNC.
If Nance's arm has bounced back from last week, we should be in really good shape today with Nance and Andrews. I just hope it is in that order if Nance is ready to go.

Plus Ragusa and Manuel. Should have plenty of arms. Just have to get it done with the bats again.

Most games/series have gotten enough pitching to win. Just a matter can they do enough on offense.

If thr ball is flying like it did yesterday we should be ok offensively! Interestingly the guy who got outs yesterday in those conditions was the crafty guy. Neither of our guys today are crafty. In fact non of those 4 are crafty.

For people who like to talk baseball yesterday performance by Harris triggers an interesting topic. The way that coaches recruit pitching has to change and I believe you will see that start to happen moving forward. I think we are going to see a move away from simply chasing velo to much more focus on pitch ability. P4 guys at this point can turn around 95/96 just as easy as they can 92/93. We have a stable full of guys who can run it up there but are mostly ineffective because they can't actually pitch.
It requires much more time and probably more trust in certain travel programs for evaluation but I fully expect the approach to recruiting is going to start shifting to a focus on movement and command. The game is moving back to movement over velo. More focus sinkers, cutters, change ups than 4 seem fastball with a slider. You have to keep hitters off balance with stuff that moves both ways. Guys hit velo too well right now.
It will be interesting to watch how quickly State transitions their recruiting philosophy. Give me the 88-90 HS guy who can pitch and I can build his velo to 92-93 with a college nutrition and weigh room over the showcase guy who can hit 95 but can't pitch for ***** Right now, the P4 approach overwhelmingly is the 95 guy who can't pitch. You see evidence of it everywhere.
