You've got to be kidding me.

They need a shut down coming out of the bull pen

Right. I'd rather have Nance come in in the 4th or 5th and try to go the distance than have him start and have to try to piece together the last couple high leverage innings

If Wiggins aggressively calls for and goes and catches the ball we are out of the inning unharmed. Obviosuly he's in the lineup to hit - but that was his ball.

Yeah when it happened, I thought to myself "ah that's why Fraasman has played so much"

For people who like to talk baseball yesterday performance by Harris triggers an interesting topic. The way that coaches recruit pitching has to change and I believe you will see that start to happen moving forward. I think we are going to see a move away from simply chasing velo to much more focus on pitch ability. P4 guys at this point can turn around 95/96 just as easy as they can 92/93. We have a stable full of guys who can run it up there but are mostly ineffective because they can't actually pitch.
It requires much more time and probably more trust in certain travel programs for evaluation but I fully expect the approach to recruiting is going to start shifting to a focus on movement and command. The game is moving back to movement over velo. More focus sinkers, cutters, change ups than 4 seem fastball with a slider. You have to keep hitters off balance with stuff that moves both ways. Guys hit velo too well right now.
It will be interesting to watch how quickly State transitions their recruiting philosophy. Give me the 88-90 HS guy who can pitch and I can build his velo to 92-93 with a college nutrition and weigh room over the showcase guy who can hit 95 but can't pitch for ***** Right now, the P4 approach overwhelmingly is the 95 guy who can't pitch. You see evidence of it everywhere.

Bad luck there. Did not get a good view of the ball hitting Wiggins so don't know if it took a bad hop into him or not. Wow cost us at least one run, probably two.

There was nothing unlucky about that.
