Hes hit a guy in the back and walked a few. Problem is he cant locate his fastball. He only has 2 pitches. So hes having to use his slider as his strike pitch. Sliders over the plate is living dangerously.

At this level, hitting a flat 99 mph fastball is easier than hitting that slider. Nobody was complaining last year when he threw four straight sliders to strike out Condon with the bases loaded in Athens.

This ump behind home plate is tough to figure out but Sosa is not the best at framing pitches. I've watched several games this year where the opposing team got strike calls on pitches thrown in the exact location that were called balls for our pitchers. Bailey and even Cozart were really good at getting close pitches to look like strikes and that is missing from this team.

Let's be real you don't need a 2700 spin fb when you have the slider Dudan does and your fb is 99. He'll just show it so dudes can't be diving out with slider away every pitch. How about mixing a fb in from time to time.

We essentially played to go 1-2. Game is far from over, obviously, but this was the wrong approach.
