In fairness Nance gave up one earned in 2.2, Dom couldn't throw a strike - Dudan just got hit hammered. But after all the sliders it was dang near predictable.

If we really wanted to play smart in college baseball, it should be a required automatic take on a 2-0 count.

I mean any other position i might agree with you. But Hevner has been brutal all year at the plate. Didnt use Jarros cause his fielding was suspect. Ok. The fact that you still kept going with Hevner and not at least giving your freshman a look in more than 3 games up until now should be questioned. Just sticking with Hevner all season should be questioned. And especially with how this team has struggled to find runs the last month. I dont think thats out of bounds to discuss.

State has to be more aggressive in the portal this year. Need some proven bats or, at best, you'll be in the same spot next year. We've got a really good pitching staff, but even the best college pitchers get lit up a couple times per year. Need some power that can overcome it when you need it.
