anyone have any early thoughts on the roster or how it is expected (or you want) to play out?

i think 7/8 guys are locked in, position wise.

C- Cozart
1st- Pennington
2nd/SS- Butterworth and ?
3rd- Amac
OF- Soles, Serrano, Nixon, Hogue
DH- Basically anyone. Whoever doesn't start in OF. Sosa/ Crabtree seemingly have the most prep hype, on the surface.

do you think the top 4 listed at the top guys for the OF? still intrigued that Hogue has been listed at IF/OF at JUCO and at NCSU. his bat can play it seems, not sure I would trust him at 2nd base IF he can actually play the infield.

I would love to see Josh Hogue and Drew Lanphere get some reps at 2B to get their bats in the lineup but that's just my opinion

couple tweets from Cory, including hearing rave reviews on A-Mak. IMO with a more aggressive team approach, I can see him having a really solid year with the bat.

Back for another look at @NCStateBaseball. I love what #Pack9 did in transfer portal - Garrett Pennington & Alec Makarewicz bring pop to infield corners, and Brandon Butterworth can really play SS. Also has sneaky pop - hit 2-run HR today, smashed a 2B off wall in my last visit.

Fitt has gassed up the young arms for two weeks and haven't seen him mention Mako once. He's also said it's the best frosh class since Rodon/Turner… State had two top of the first rounders in the 2021 class and Payton Green who is a real prospect. High praise. We'll see

I will say, I think this is the 1st year in a while that I have been more optimistic about the arms going into the season compared to the bats. Of course, a lot of these young guys will go through growing pains, but it SEEMS like we could have 12-15 kids legit earn innings.

Same. Last year we knew we would be thin. Really like the arms and depth now. Gotta have it to compete for the top.

With the depth it seems we have, I think it opens Fritton up to a weekend role. IMO he should be the Friday guy as I think he has the top end stuff/makeup to do that.
