While I agree with the premise of your response, the play was easy to make. CF had the ball going towards 3B and runner had just rounded 2B. Easy throw to third and it's an out.

He was 120 foot from 3rd base when a guy rounded 2nd. If he overthrew 3rd and run scored then that's on him. When a play is there to be made, make the play. Don't wave the white flag. That's losing baseball.

TC tried to make a play in right field and everybody was saying that was a stupid play and a mental error.

C'mon man. You have to know the situation. Dude had a single. Let it drop, unless you're 100% sure you can make the play. Don't turn a single into a double and run scored when there was no need to dive there. Players have to be smarter than that. You don't question the effort but it's ok to question if that's a smart play to try to make. Good ball teams don't give away runs like that. NC State isn't good enough to do that.
