There is no coach I dread dealing with after NC State loses more than Avent, and I don't mean that in a bad way. He just has no patience for bad baseball, and he has watched quite a bit of it this season.Wbtaylor said:SportManagementEngineer said:I just can't imagine that's the case.ClePack said:Think we may be seeing the decline of Avent right before our eyes. Just seems like he DGAF these last 2 years. Idk...SportManagementEngineer said:The base running, the fielding, the pitchers' inability to get guys out with two strikes. It's all bad and its baffling because up until last year, these weren't issues with Avent's teams.pack2010 said:SportManagementEngineer said:
How can this team be so poorly coached? It is baffling.
is that really on coaching? that is the first thing you are taught in little league. OF calls that. IF gets out of the way.
at some point it's on the players
I doubt he has completely checked out but something is off. The last two years we have massively underachieved and it's all been self inflicted. At some point we all lose that fire inside of us. I feel like the Omaha trip took its toll on Avent and led to him becoming satisfied, complacent, over it, or whatever you want to call it.

Hating losing doesn't take effort. Grinding 24/7/365 takes a ton of effort and at some point in all of our lives we lose the drive to do it the way we once did. Getting to the office an hour later or delegating something you used to do yourself could be the difference in winning and losing.

lord, the replies on here is the reason why the "message board geniuses" twitter account exists...
Homers keeping score, helping ND batting averages. The pop fly that was misplayed hurt Lawson's ERA but they ruled that a hit....but that should be an out every time. Candelaria has to call off Harrison. Poor team defense. Sometimes, it's like we have never played before.Rob McLamb said:
I look at the scoreboard and I see NC State with no errors while Notre Dame has two, and with how poorly the Pack has been in the field it makes no sense at all.

I say this lovingly as an Avent stan - if this team had a closer, we wouldn't be on the bubble right now.ncsuchris said:SportManagementEngineer said:You miss last night's game?ncsuchris said:ummmm...have you met Dom Fritton?WolfpackJack69 said:

If that makes you not the closer, you're gonna have a tough time finding one
