Let me add my 2 cents on the 3B/SS/LF/RF errors.

Against BC they had bases loaded, bottom of the 9th and they hit a ball out to Marcy in RF. Granted there was no way he was throwing anyone out at home, but he fell and busted his ass. Wasn't an error but he still fell.

I beat this one to death (can't remember the game) but Gino was playing even with the bag and someone smoked a pitch right past him. Did he decided to play even by himself or did Hart/Avent tell him to do this? To Gino's credit, later he was playing normal depth and someone else smoked one by him. Highfills 1st batter. No one on, no outs. No need to be playing even. If the batter does bunt, barring a throwing error, it's a single. Turned into a double. Runner scored.

ECU game. 2 outs runners on base. Pop to shallow left/deep SS. Clearly Green's ball. Trice comes running in front 20 yards away and call off Green. Trice muffs the ball 3 ft from where Green is standing. That error cost us 5 runs.

Fielding has been suspect some games.

As I've stated before. Sometimes pitchers pitch to contact. Trying to get ground balls. When fielders cannot make sometimes simple fielding plays, a pitcher then starts to think he has to make perfect pitches. He then he starts to aim pitches. Then walks happen, then you leave a breaking ball up, or miss a fastball middle in.

Agreed. I'm not a jersey guy at all and even I thought those stood out. They are sharp as a tack.

Good post. I don't totally agree with everything but that would be nitpicking. The gist of your post, at least as I see it, is that baseball is a team sport and the sometimes shoddy defensive play from NC State goes beyond one person, which I would agree with.

Someone recently asked me in person what I think the ceiling would be for this NC State team if they maxed out or just played clean baseball.

My answer:

1. ACC: NC State can win the conference title in Durham.

2. NCAA: Best case scenario, NC State (depending on matchups) could get to the first week of the CWS. I'm not sure they'd have enough pitching to make it to a championship series.

From an NC State perspective, it would be interesting to see what an efficient version of this team can do. They really can beat anyone.

I liked the White Sox knock offs but my favorites are
All White sleeveless with red undershirts with script NC State

I understand and agree it would have been a double if he was playing back. They hit another scorcher with him playing back for a double later. But he would have had a better play on it playing back. BTW, Coach Frazier was a great coach.

I don't even mind that the softball game is running over (going to run wayyyy over by the way). But if they're going to advertise that we can now watch on ACCNX, then we should be able to do that.
