Great job by Logan Whitaker. Except for the 2nd inning, and he only gave up one hard hit ball then, he was magnificent. 19 straight retired and he was going right after them. Well done young man!

I haven't watched many games at all this year and I thought Avent had gotten away from the small ball crap. The last 4-5 years he let his guys hit for the most part and it's worked. Let your clean up hitter do what he is supposed to do and hit. Luckily that major bad decision did not cost the team, but it could have.

Highfill came in and looked pretty good. I presume he was trying to be careful with the guy he walked, but his stuff looked really good.

Now get the sweep tomorrow. CF for FSU made a Hell of a catch on Payton Green's shot into the gap. Have to tip your hat to him on making that play.

1. ACC: NC State can win the conference title in Durham.

There are some similarities to this team and the 21 team. mainly the way the 21 team started slow and finished strong. Can this team duplicate what the 21 team did? We are getting ready to find out.

Great start.

I swear we have to lead the country in double plays hit into.

In some ways that's a byproduct of not really playing much small ball. We don't do much bunting or stealing bases, and almost no hit and runs. Keeps big innings in play, but also probably puts you in more double play situations.

Pretty sure that was a dinger, but no good camera angle there.

Broadcast quality HD cameras have never been more affordable and easy to use. College athletics is a multi billion dollar business. Schools could afford four more cameras easily.

Yep, bunting is fine there but you can't play pepper with the pitcher.

Disagree. Let your number 3 hitter hit. You only have 9 outs left and you give them one. Two games in a row it has not worked.
