Unbelievable win. Obviously they have issues but they absolutely refuse to die. We'll see how far it can take them
The double play he turned with a left handed batter is an all decade play. Very impressive!King Leary said:

Well, State is actually good so not sure that's a good comparison. I think the pitching is fine personally but it has disappeared at times.SportManagementEngineer said:EthanBarry said:

I hate to say this but our baseball team is basically UNC's football team. Pray we can score enough to overcome bad defense. The bats will have to carry us because the defense isn't getting better- the pitching could improve but needs help from the other 8 guys on the field.
It can look that way and it actually does disappear at times. That usually happens with most teams. One thing that will never help the pitching, is the pitiful defense we put behind them. It would be great if our pitchers could strike out everybody, but that ain't happening. They have to get some support in the field. I am not talking spectacular fielding, but making routine plays. Yes people are going to make bad throws, but we can't catch "can of corn" pop flies. It's just mind boggling the plays we don't make and it's not one or two guys. It's pretty much everybody.EthanBarry said:Well, State is actually good so not sure that's a good comparison. Willadsen has to fix some things. Since the Clemson game he hasn't been "right" and super inefficient but it's fixable, IMO.EthanBarry said:Well, State is actually good so not sure that's a good comparison. Any word on Sam and if his back is improving? I know back issues can be a problem and it can be difficult to predict how quickly it will get better.CLTWolf said:Willadsen has to fix some things. Today, if Brown doesn't lose that ball in the sun I highly doubt Villaman gives up 3 runs in that first inning. How does that change the rest of his outing? Maybe it doesn't. Either way, it points to the defense, IMO, not the pitching.
We really miss Sam and being able to use Whitaker on Sundays instead of Fridays. If Sam were healthy I'd almost want to move Willadsen to Sunday and use Logan on Saturdays. Would've loved to have brought in Silver today as he seems to be the perfect guy to throw against these Louisville hitters. "straight ball they hit very much, curveball their bats are afraid".
With just a middle of the road defense this would be a very very dangerous team, even without Sam.
I don't know what Lavoie does in practice but when that dude gets ABs good things tend to happen. Linus Baker screwed him on a couple fastballs in his last AB, IMO.
Same here. Seems like every time I give up on one of our teams and quit watching, they get it together, come back and win. Starting to think I should just stop watching the games live and just catch the replay on demand. Reverse jinx or something, I dunno.DrummerboyWolf said:
Well I quit watching and apparently the guys came back and won! I must be the KOD this weekend. Way to go Pack 9! You guys always make it exciting and sometimes not in a good way. Let's win the series tomorrow

IF he's unable to return this season, is he eligible for a medical redshirt?Wolfer79 said:Daviewolf83 said:CLTWolf said:Willadsen has to fix some things. I have not looked at number of games played vs maximum allowed, but since he is draft eligible after 2023 season, probably does not matter
You just really want to start Villaman. hahaEthanBarry said:
I'd think about throwing Willadsen out of the pen where it's easier to manage his control issues. Start Villaman, Whitaker, Silver. That won't happen though. On the bright side, Willadsen and Highfill are probably back next year.
Villaman is your best guy by a mile, he has to start! Lol. Draft will be interesting, Whitaker, Lawson and Adams are the guys to watch IMO. Whitaker is old and had so many injuries, go if you can.CLTWolf said:You just really want to start Villaman. hahaEthanBarry said:

Yeah, you have to think that Sam and Willy are both back along with Whitaker to make for a really nice weekend rotation next year. Pitching should be pretty strong next year assuming Sam is back along with arms like Lawson, Adams, Nelson, Payne, Kelly, etc.
Draft being only 20 rounds I can't imagine any of those guys are selected. Of course they may choose to just sign a FA deal if they can get one.EthanBarry said:Villaman is your best guy by a mile, he has to start! Lol.
