The benefits of turf lay in cost to maintain, weather irrelevant, and general durability/usage.
There's no question what looks/feels better - I'm incredibly thankful we haven't switched over in Soft/Base/Foot.
Like seeing Notre Dame football play on turf is borderline sinful.
It kills me the Panthers converted BoA to turf, but with the high usage its borderline a necessity there now.
The leadoff triple for Louisville would probably have been only a double on a regular grass field. That was a turf triple.

For football, my son plays all of his home games on turf and a lot of away games. As a kicker, he prefers a grass field instead of a turf field. He says his foot is able to come through the grass more easily and he hits a better ball. Payton Green has got to lay off of that pitch. He did not have a strike thrown to him and he struck out. He almost made it a great AB but then swung at the same bad pitch.
