I agree. They need to keep the warning track dirt, just for safety reasons.SniderFC said:Daviewolf83 said:I feel the same way. As long as State has a turf management program, I do not believe we have to think about this at State.SniderFC said:
Call me old fashioned but I will always hate turf baseball fields. The infield needs to be dirt.
I hope not. I just don't think it looks as good as a well kept grass field. I also thing the non-dirt warning track is what through Devo off on that fly ball.
If a team/school can maintain a grass field, there is no reason to go to turf - most any player prefers grass.Daviewolf83 said:I agree. And Whitaker got it. Change up has been nasty.LegacyPack4 said:
Need a big shut down inning right here
For football, my son plays all of his home games on turf and a lot of away games. As a kicker, he prefers a grass field instead of a turf field. He says his foot is able to come through the grass more easily and he hits a better ball. This year, he will play two away games on grass (State and FSU), but all of his other games will be played on turf.Tom OBriens Smile said:If a team/school can maintain a grass field, there is no reason to go to turf - most any player prefers grass.Daviewolf83 said:I agree. The benefits of turf lay in cost to maintain, weather irrelevant, and general durability/usage.
There's no question what looks/feels better - I'm incredibly thankful we haven't switched over in Soft/Base/Foot.
Like seeing Notre Dame football play on turf is borderline sinful.
It kills me the Panthers converted BoA to turf, but with the high usage its borderline a necessity there now.

Man, 8pm start time is killer for me, I'm normally three bourbons in with one foot towards the bedroom by that time. Might have to take a nap beforehand.
