Why are vaccinated players being tested?

What pisses me off is the NCAA just "knew we couldn't finish" and then called it at 1am. Could they not have waited until the next afternoon at the latest. Maybe sit down with people and discuss potential opportunities.
It just seems like they took the easy route and moved on.
I think once you reach 8 positives and contact tracing it become a question of if State can even field a team.
So contact tracing is more important than a negative test result? 19 of them to be exact
Brother, my daughter tested positive for Covid on a Sunday.
I tested Sunday Monday tuesday and Wednesday l, all negatives.
Finally tested positive Thursday. There's a reason one initial negative test doesn't mean anything at all.
Hell my doc told me I may not test positive for a week, which is why I don't think those non vaxed players were going to be allowed to return until maybe Tuesday or wed, pending all negatives.
Especially after apparently two more positives Friday am.
Then what's the point of testing at all? We are testing players 1 day before the game knowing full well the tests don't prove anything one way or the other?
Ding ding ding
Plus....its a freaking outdoor sport. Probably less than a 5% chance we spread to another team on the field. Hell, let us wear masks and that's lower. Faucci says so. Lmao
Idk how to link but its come to light too that The county health depth in Omaha DID NOT recommend NC State be removed. In fact they said they saw nothing in their guidelines that would cause us to be removed.
The Health dept simply stated they would support the ncaas decision. So essentially the ncaa threw them under the bus, as to why we were removed.
There you go! That's probably why it said things aren't finished between State and the ncaa

I'd still like to know why they wouldn't play a double header Saturday and why is State so mad if this is how it played out? Why didn't the NCAA say something if this is actually what happened?
I know they said Corbin did nothing but it's not like somebody would admit that on the record. His comments last couple days have been awfully fishy.
you really think vandy would've agreed to play a double header? you'd be asking them to win two games in the one day. no way corbin's going for that.
Why would Corbin's opinion matter? It's not a regular season game where the schools make that decision

They were only being tested because we had what they deemed a team outbreak.

Just because I run a State website doesn't mean I have to believe State got screwed here. Trust me, I'll admit it for sure when it happens, ask the folks who get mad when I bring up officiating after losses.
In this situation though, I talk to people too, was familiar with the Ncaa's guidelines ahead of time, and we always don't have to agree.
It's okay to acknowledge at times when you have blame, and State does here for various issues. I'll either write up what I've heard or post it in a pod later.
But if tou want to be mad at the ncaa for enforcing the rules laid out to everyone ahead of time, go right ahead.
Could you please write up what you've heard? That's my thing. Until D1s article, just so much info being thrown out there on social media we don't know what to believe. Would greatly appreciate!James Henderson said:packgrad said:

James do you think they should have been doing any regular testing to begin with? The entire country is wide open. The only people I still see getting tested are athletes, college and professional. These so called "Health & Safety" protocols are keeping who safe exactly? As the NCAA brags about attendance. What are we even doing here?

I think your missing the point that people think the rules are absurd as of June , 2021 , especially when they are allowing 30,000 fans . Not the selective enforcement of an already stupid rule .
Reid Johnston has 6 negative tests and couldn't play . That's a stupid rule if that's allowed to happen .
Have some flexibility . Don't have the same rules you had back in March . Use common sense . Not that hard to resolve fairly . Play the negative players . If your argument is tracing then that applies to Vandy also.
I get what you're saying, but based on the NCAA's rules, it's just comical.James Henderson said:Td21pack said:

Vaccinated kids = no testing.
That means that either the NCAA thinks kids that are vaccinated aren't major threats to spread it, or they don't care if those kids have COVID since there will be no major symptoms.
So why test those kids now? If you aren't testing the vaccinated kids on Vandy, you shouldn't test the vaccinated kids on NC State, there is no reason to justify this one imo. Vandy could have the entire team vaccinated and 10 of those kids could be COVID positive but no one would care because they aren't forced to get tested.
So we have 2 kids test positive that are unvaccinated, fair enough. But we also have 4 kids vaccinated test positive. Now, those kids would normally be eligible to play with no questions asked, per NCAA ruiles, because they wouldn't be tested. So if we have our entire team vaccinated and we have 6 kids that would test positive, but aren't tested, it's just fine and dandy for them to go play. But if we have 4 vaccinated kids that test positive, then they can't play. The science just doesn't support making them sit.

And we are saying those guidelines don't match today's times . And they are subjective in nature when it comes to contact tracing . When you allow 30,000 fans in the stands you can't keep stringent protocols especially when every team was mingling with fans in hotels all week .
