I appreciate him compiling everything.

What pisses me off is the NCAA just "knew we couldn't finish" and then called it at 1am. Could they not have waited until the next afternoon at the latest. Maybe sit down with people and discuss potential opportunities.

It just seems like they took the easy route and moved on.

I think once you reach 8 positives and contact tracing it become a question of if State can even field a team.

So contact tracing is more important than a negative test result? 19 of them to be exact

Brother, my daughter tested positive for Covid on a Sunday.

I tested Sunday Monday tuesday and Wednesday l, all negatives.

Finally tested positive Thursday. There's a reason one initial negative test doesn't mean anything at all.

Hell my doc told me I may not test positive for a week, which is why I don't think those non vaxed players were going to be allowed to return until maybe Tuesday or wed, pending all negatives.

Especially after apparently two more positives Friday am.

Then what's the point of testing at all? We are testing players 1 day before the game knowing full well the tests don't prove anything one way or the other?

Ding ding ding

Plus....its a freaking outdoor sport. Probably less than a 5% chance we spread to another team on the field. Hell, let us wear masks and that's lower. Faucci says so. Lmao
What a joke. If you are NC State, a positive test means you have to sit.......a negative test means you might still have it so you have to sit as well. Makes perfect sense

Idk how to link but its come to light too that The county health depth in Omaha DID NOT recommend NC State be removed. In fact they said they saw nothing in their guidelines that would cause us to be removed.

The Health dept simply stated they would support the ncaas decision. So essentially the ncaa threw them under the bus, as to why we were removed.

There you go! That's probably why it said things aren't finished between State and the ncaa

that whole thing has been taken waaaay out of context because it's not the full release. them not "recommending" we be removed is because they have to follow local guidelines. like by the guidelines the city of omaha outlines, and obviously there are none. them not officially recommending us to be removed is because they can't make a call based on ncaa guidelines. it doesn't mean they disagreed with the ncaa, per say. they don't give a damn either way.

Reid Johnston's mom says her son has had 6 straight negative tests and is not allowed to play ...

This is why people are rightfully pissed.

Select contact tracing vs NC State baseball but not Clemson football .

All players testing negative shoukd have taken the field .

I'd still like to know why they wouldn't play a double header Saturday and why is State so mad if this is how it played out? Why didn't the NCAA say something if this is actually what happened?

I know they said Corbin did nothing but it's not like somebody would admit that on the record. His comments last couple days have been awfully fishy.

you really think vandy would've agreed to play a double header? you'd be asking them to win two games in the one day. no way corbin's going for that.

Why would Corbin's opinion matter? It's not a regular season game where the schools make that decision

the ncaa isn't gonna put them in that position. in the name of "fairness" they're not gonna ask vanderbilt to make a concession to benefit us.

They were only being tested because we had what they deemed a team outbreak.

Just because I run a State website doesn't mean I have to believe State got screwed here. Trust me, I'll admit it for sure when it happens, ask the folks who get mad when I bring up officiating after losses.

In this situation though, I talk to people too, was familiar with the Ncaa's guidelines ahead of time, and we always don't have to agree.

It's okay to acknowledge at times when you have blame, and State does here for various issues. I'll either write up what I've heard or post it in a pod later.

But if tou want to be mad at the ncaa for enforcing the rules laid out to everyone ahead of time, go right ahead.

Vaccines are available, life goes on. 21,000 in the crowd last night, it's all bull**** .

the 2 positive tests (by unvaccinated players) triggered the "outbreak" clause. outbreak clause means everyone's getting tested no matter vaccination status.

vaccinated players could only be tested under two circumstances: 1) "outbreak"/multiple unvaccinated players test positive on the team 2) the vaccinated player is displaying symptoms

James do you think they should have been doing any regular testing to begin with? The entire country is wide open. The only people I still see getting tested are athletes, college and professional. These so called "Health & Safety" protocols are keeping who safe exactly? As the NCAA brags about attendance. What are we even doing here?

I think your missing the point that people think the rules are absurd as of June , 2021 , especially when they are allowing 30,000 fans . Not the selective enforcement of an already stupid rule .

Reid Johnston has 6 negative tests and couldn't play . That's a stupid rule if that's allowed to happen .

Have some flexibility . Don't have the same rules you had back in March . Use common sense . Not that hard to resolve fairly . Play the negative players . If your argument is tracing then that applies to Vandy also.

Restraunts , music venues , sporting events have revised their protocols .... but NCAA has not . Except in their own sanctioned event stadiums ... interesting .

I don't think there is anyone that thinks there isn't some blame for NC State. Things happened for whatever reason and those people have to live with those consequences for the rest of their lives. But, there is also considerable blame for the NCAA. Nonsensical testing policy, lack of communication, a seeming rushed timeline on decisions that come off looking like solely due to TV considerations. That is what has virtually everyone associated with NC State sports, fans, reporters, websites alike upset, and yet you James seem intent on being Custer on this hill. Honestly it doesn't matter if we think they should be doing testing or not, I'm not a doc so hard for me to say.

All I know is the NCAA gave everyone the same testing guidelines prior to the tourney. If you chose to participate With unvaxed players, you knew ahead of time those players would be tested, whether they were sick or not.

It's on you as a program to try and make sure those players readily tested remain negative so your status as a team isn't in jeopardy.

I get what you're saying, but based on the NCAA's rules, it's just comical.

Vaccinated kids = no testing.

That means that either the NCAA thinks kids that are vaccinated aren't major threats to spread it, or they don't care if those kids have COVID since there will be no major symptoms.

So why test those kids now? If you aren't testing the vaccinated kids on Vandy, you shouldn't test the vaccinated kids on NC State, there is no reason to justify this one imo. Vandy could have the entire team vaccinated and 10 of those kids could be COVID positive but no one would care because they aren't forced to get tested.

So we have 2 kids test positive that are unvaccinated, fair enough. But we also have 4 kids vaccinated test positive. Now, those kids would normally be eligible to play with no questions asked, per NCAA ruiles, because they wouldn't be tested. So if we have our entire team vaccinated and we have 6 kids that would test positive, but aren't tested, it's just fine and dandy for them to go play. But if we have 4 vaccinated kids that test positive, then they can't play. The science just doesn't support making them sit.

THIS. We could take this in stride if we genuinely believed this was a player health and safety decision. vaccination wasn't required by players or the 25K fans in the stadium. 25K unvetted fans speaks to NCAA not really being concerned with player health and safety. the hypocrisy doesn't make sense. who exactly is in danger? what's the point they're trying to make? this was political, not a science/health decision.

I was told Vandys entire team was tested saturday. Is that true?

Ncaa let state play a game Friday with vaxed players; up to that point, I'm not sure why Vandy should be tested, they didn't have an outbreak which is the only situation that would trigger mass testing of vacinnated players.

Imo the big day for Vandy was always Monday. I'm not sure any of their positives would already be registering on Saturday.

And we are saying those guidelines don't match today's times . And they are subjective in nature when it comes to contact tracing . When you allow 30,000 fans in the stands you can't keep stringent protocols especially when every team was mingling with fans in hotels all week . Vandy had send off parties . Rocker was signing autographs in the stands . Teams were allowed and even suggested to go to community events and cook outs on off days. They weren't in a bubble or required to be ... so don't use bubble level protocols when you got 30,000 fans drinking Budweiser out of their own shoes and you promote it .

My two cents. Anyone in America can get a vaccine whenever they want. If you want one, get one. If you don't then don't. Everyone go back to normal. If you roll the dice and don't get a vaccine and are in any risk group then that is on you. None of these kids are getting sick. They are well above average athletes in prime shape. If you are worried about getting sick then get vaccinated and stay out of everyone else's way. That's the science and that's common sense. Not a lot of either going around these days.

nope, but you know what? a PCR of a vaccinated-asymptomatic-exposed person will almost always result in a positive test.

We should have been mad about those guidelines over a month ago then, thats when they were put in place.

Prior to Ruston, we've had to follow them and no one seemed to have a big issue with them until now.

State has had players regularly tested since prior to Ruston.

But if tou want to be mad at the ncaa for enforcing the rules laid out to everyone ahead of time, go right ahead.

When was Reid tested 6 times? So far I've read/heard about once post-jarrett positive.

literally his mom

I'm not sure how that tweet answers my question.

of course not. you probably need 7 negative tests over the course of 14 days to prove youre right.

you really think his mom would talk about random testing during the season? come on man

I wish we could turn off James green color when he posts about baseball because he clearly knows **** about the situation. I'm glad he can post his anecdotes and irrelevant outdated studies but it is tiresome and quite irksome to see his continuous support of the NCAA decision to **** State as an NC State website owner.

Just because I run a State website doesn't mean I have to believe State got screwed here. Trust me, I'll admit it for sure when it happens, ask the folks who get mad when I bring up officiating after losses.

I love you man, and I love this website, but read the room some.
nah bro. james is never wrong, just ask him

I'm wrong a lot. I don't even understand how this is a right or wrong situation relative to me or you.

All I've consistently said is all 8 teams knew the testing guidelines ahead of time.

Serious question, did we just assume if a team at the CWS had an outbreak, the ncaa would just continue to let them play?

it certainly couldn't hurt their image to show a little empathy.

Imo that was even allowing us to play Friday. I'd heard DQ was on the table then, it seems after we had two more test positive that am.

Personally given how they have handled these deals in tourneys beforehand I figured wed be done.

Luckily we had just enough vacinnated to have a starting lineup.

No I'm saying I don't think Reid Johnston tested negative 6 times after justice tested positive or Jarrett testers positive or the other two players tested positive.

I don't know which of those players he was around the most for it to matter.

So again, why would negative tests prior to the other positive tests matter to the NCAA? If you are in contact tracing you have to string together negatives post-positive test exposure. That is why I asked when did he have all those negative results?

My son tested positive a full week after my daughter and he had 4 negatives in between.

The bigger issue why are we still having covid protocols in these tourneys? U have all these fans in the stands with no social distancing and no masks on. Crazy
