RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball head coach Wes Moore announced Tuesday that he has added Brittany Morris to the Wolfpack staff as an assistant coach.

Morris joins the Pack after spending the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach at ECU. She previously spent time in Raleigh as a graduate assistant for NC State during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 campaigns.

"We're excited to welcome Brittany back to our program," said Moore. "She's an up-and-coming coach who excels in a lot of areas. Not too far removed from her own days as a player, Brittany will do a great job with our guards while serving as a mentor to all our players. She's also a passionate recruiter who brings established relationships with both in-state and East Coast players and coaches. Most importantly, I know first-hand that Brittany is a great person who will always be there to support and lift up our student-athletes in basketball and in life."

Prior to her time at ECU, Morris was on the staff at UNCW for three seasons. She helped UNCW win 13 home games in 2018-19, which marked the most for the Seahawks since moving to Division I. Under Morris' tutelage, UNCW's Shrita Parker was named the USBWA National Player of the Week in January 2019 as well as being named Second-Team All-CAA following the 2018-19 campaign.

She took on the additional responsibility of recruiting coordinator during her last two years with the Seahawks, helping bring in a top-100 recruiting class in 2018 and signing the top-ranked class in the CAA each of those seasons.

Morris started her collegiate coaching career at Virginia Tech, serving as video coordinator for the 2014-15 campaign. She then made her return to Raleigh for her stint as graduate assistant. While with the Pack in that role, Morris helped the team to a 43-20 combined record. That included a 23-9 clip in 2016-17 and advancement to the second round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

As a player, Morris was a four-year letterwinner for Seton Hall where she played from 2009-13. She started three seasons for the Pirates and led Seton Hall in scoring (13.6 ppg) during the 2012-13 campaign on her way to earning Second Team All-Big East honors. Morris is ranked 23rd in Seton Hall's history with 997 career points and second with 178 career three pointers. She also excelled in the classroom, earning spots on the Big East All-Academic Team and the Dean's List.

A native of Raleigh, Morris earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from Seton Hall in 2013 and her master's degree in communications from NC State in 2017.  She played high school basketball at local Broughton High School before starting her collegiate career.
