Starting the indoor season off strong

With a time of 4:03.19 in the mile at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Elliott McArthur puts himself at No. 9 overall in the program's top-10.

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The NC State track & field team opened its 2026 campaign at the Virginia Tech Invitational, turning in a strong weekend highlighted by a new school record in the 300 meters and multiple athletes adding their names to NC State's all-time top-10 lists in their respective events.

The Wolfpack enters another weekend of competition this season with athletes split across two meets. Throwers and Jakerra Covington, competing in the pentathlon, will travel to Blacksburg, Va., for the Doc Hale Invitational, while sprinters and jumpers take on the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
