Men's tennis on the road against Duke and UNC this weekend. At Duke today (Friday) at 5:00 pm and at UNC on Sunday (March 29) at 1:00 pm.

The parking situation for fans going to a Duke match requires about a half mile walk to the courts. But the parking at UNC's facility (Chewning Tennis Center, which is off campus), is extremely convenient as there is a massive parking lot (that serves adjacent university buildings as well) located right next to the facility.

I'm planning to go to the UNC match. On paper we are the favorites, and would love to see us beat them at their place.

19th-ranked NC State men's tennis faces its third loss of the season, falling to Duke in Durham Friday night.

NC State men's tennis tallied its third loss of the season, and second in conference play, after falling to Duke 4-0 in Durham. The squad's record for the season now moves to 15-3 (7-2 ACC).

The loss to Duke looks "bad" if you just look at the final score of 0-4. But if you look more closely, it was actually not that lopsided of a loss.

The Wolfpack barely lost the doubles point, winning on court 1 and losing in a tiebreaker on court 3. So that doubles point was very close, and could have gone either way. In singles, the Wolfpack was leading (up one set) on courts 5 and 6, and was tied on court 3. So, it's very possible they could have won all three of those singles matches. And if they just flip the doubles point, they could have won 4-3.

It's a fine line in a lot of these matches, and the final team score can be deceiving.

Very glad I went to this match. Was an electric atmosphere out there as Manning clinched the team win over the last couple games of his match. Fairly big crowd at this match, including many Wolfpack fans. They also gave out a free cheeseburger to all fans at the match, and it wasn't fast foodโ€ฆbut a damn good burger.

Our guys must have been getting trash talk from some of the UNC fans throughout the match, because right after Manning clinched it, the team celebrated by waving "goodbye" to the UNC fansโ€ฆas seen here in this clip.

No. 19 @PackMensTennis went 1-1 in its Tobacco Road matches, falling to Duke but defeating UNC-Chapel Hill.

William Manning delivered in a three-set win against the Tar Heels to clutch for the Pack.
