They only had 13 on the roster prior to these 3 new additions. So I assume these 3 will be available to play in a few months for the 2025 season. I watched a few of the spring exhibition matches, and IMO we definitely needed more options at outside hitter. Will have a really young team this coming season, so it could be a little bit of a rebuilding year. But they had the #18 ranked recruiting class coming in for 2025 (prior to adding these 3, as well as the transfer setter from UCLA). So the future looks bright.

First two volleyball games are tomorrow, Friday, at home in Reynolds - at 11:00 am vs Akron and at 7:00 pm vs Army. I think I saw that the game against Akron is free entry (no ticket required). Don't know why, but that's unusual. Every other match for the year will/should be ticketed.

Came back to beat Akron in 5 sets. In the series history with Akron, we had lost the only meetings prior to today, in 2007 and 2008.

Looking at the box score from this match, two of the true freshman hitters were impressive -- Jordan Smith (12 kills, 0.267 hitting %) and Sa'Mya Dorsey (11 kills, 0.292), far better than Senior Courtney Bryant (10 kills, 0.140). And Bryant was an important piece last year and one of our better players. So that's a positive, to have some of the freshman looking good early in the season.
