Correct on your points. One other thing, the waiver is also gone.

Right. You mean the old "win and you're in" from the regular season, don't you?

Correct win and in is over. Also is the waiver if a driver misses a race, ( suspension and or a Larson situation like Indy ).

Ahhhhhh - now I get what you meant . That might become a deterrent for trying to run the "double"... I always felt like that was "good" publicity for NASCAR, but what do I know.

I liked the double as well.

I always wished that Jeff Gordon would have tried to run Indy at least once.

Surprised that Jeff never did try the double. But if memory served, hasn't Rick only just in the last few years allow his drivers to compete in other forms of racing? I know that's one of the main reasons that Larson is over there, Jeff had to change Rick's mind about racing outside of NASCAR. And to glass, agree about Tony, shame that him and Gene couldn't work out.

Interesting thing here. Only 5 have drivers have attempted it. Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon, Kurt Busch, John Andretti, and recent attempts by Kyle Larson, with Stewart being the only one to complete all 1,100 miles, finishing 6th at Indy and 3rd in Charlotte in 2001

Made me go look. Very surprised to see that Stewart never won a Coca-Cola 600 race during his very successful NASCAR career.

I don't think Tony ever won the Daytona 500?

Nope, Smoke never won the 500. Neither has Kyle Busch or Brad K, both who have done well there (especially Brad). Crazy how hard that one is to win, along with Talladega. Both of those are "anybody can win races, just have to be in the right place at the right time" scenarios......and avoid the "big one"

I also find it crazy that Hamlin has never won a championship. Been so close multiple times and never been able to close it out.

Agree. Hamlin has had some really good years.

That's downright disgusting.....break into a house that you the family just died and take advantage of. Hope they catch them but they probably never will

Agree. Hamlin has had some really good years.

Last year had to be heart breaking for him. May have been his best chance

Agree. I've read rumors that this year could be his last.

Yeah Hamlin was on track to win it this year. Was kinda pulling for him too with his dad being sick.

Then the tradegy that actually happened to his dad a few weeks ago. Just terrible. Hopefully he can pull one out this year.

Trying to confirm but looks like Ford will have a new Mustang for the 2027 season.

I believe i did read that somewhere too.

Also, Haas and Rick Ware are swapping over to Chevrolet this year. Said Haas will be using Hendrick motors
